Yeah, man very dismal here workwise, lost a couple of development blocks recently, (sold - usual for this game, gardening and property maintenance), dry as a bone as well, nothing growing, farmers are really struggling up here.  Waiting for forecast rains this w/end, but nothing yet.  Spring is in the air, things will pick up.  Nothing to spare financially at present, but keeping positive.

Cheers Mate.

...if I didn't have my Music and this Forum (edit - and my dog Blu), I don't know how I'd cope.

Continuing on from my last Rollins post, I was very fortunate to receive a couple of Rollin's CD's from another member recently...

Rollins Band  'Get Some Go Again'  2000 DreamWorks.

My first ever listen to this Album.  It's a corker!!!  As @unclekanus mentioned, it has more humour and more social comment, rather that personal.  Great stuff, and thanks to @cazzesman.

...followed up with one I haven't played for a few years...

Soundgarden  'Badmotorfinger'  1991 A&M Records, USA. Polygram, Aust.

A fantastic Album with great sound.  Such a huge bottom end.  I saw them at the Sydney Big Day Out in 1994.

Janes Addiction  'Strays'  2003 Capitol Records. EMI, Aust.

Maybe their best ever me thinks.

...right now, another blast from the past...

Fugazi  'In On the Kill Taker'  1993 Dischord Records, USA. Made in France.

Cheers, Ant.

I just discovered I don’t have the Johnny’s on cd

But they are on my Australian bands wall of fame

Saw them play a few times must have been the 80’s or 90’s

great version of a New York Dolls song Showdown which was itself a cover

complete with funny video

Hoodoo Gurus also covered the song as an encore one night

All those rock n roll bands at that time were New York Dolls fans

First trip to Melbourne I saw Spencer play in a pub opposite a great Greek Restaurant

not sure where but the pub had a juke box full of Ramones song

i was impressed great night

A few months later saw him again playing guitar with Paul Kelly in Tweed Heads

very sad

i hope Chris Wilson is a long time away

The great Spencer P Jones

Seeing as how the QOTSA gig is next week, I should probably be giving myself a reminder of what they sound like.  The others can wait until tomorrow.  :D  There's just something about the sound of Songs For The Deaf though, easily my favourite.
