Evening Lads.

My third listen to this (mp3)... in the 'sweet spot'... and feeling it...

Devin Townsend  'Empath'  2019 HevyDevy Records through InsideOut Music.

Loved it from the start, and have to write that I agree with some comments about being transported by this album.  It really is a trip from start to finish - beautiful.

Having my first listen to the bonus material right now, loving them too.

I love this CD.  I can't explain why as it is extremely electronic, which is not normally my cup of tea.

It is Anderson lyrics and terrific vocals that grab me.   It all just seems to fit right in my brain even though those keyboards dominate.

'Toad in the Hole'  is my fav.

Ha. I bought this LP for $1 when I was in the USA recently ... got it in the 'play' pile for tonight.

JACK WHITE: LAZARETTO.

I purchased this LP today (couldn't resist the 20% off sale). I like the sound of Jack White and this album is no different. A bit weird/ gimmicky, because it plays from the inside to the outside.

A little late night Progressive Metal, with a healthy dollop of Opeth influence...    (edit - after a good listen I heard more Mastodon in there than Opeth)

Anciients  'Heart of Oak'  2013 Season of Mist.    Flac CD rip.

Deutsche gramophon Beethoven symphonies such a great box set

I bought this boxset when it came out back in the late 70's, so these performances are the ones that sound "right" to me despite not necessarily being the best.

THE POGUES: PEACE AND LOVE.

I just wasn't feeling quite right: sweating, tossing and turning, sleepless nights, inability to concentrate, no energy, lack of will to carry out basic tasks. It dawned on me, I recognise thatf feelling-cold turkey. I need me a nice taste of some Pogues:

Ah that's so much better.

I always find it interesting that hardly anyone notices that the word 'PEACE' has had to add an extra finger.

Morning Lads.

Contrary to JJ's quiet Sunday morning, and while many consider extreme music 'soulless', these two are tackling some spiritual/religious themes...

Rotting Christ  'The Heretics'  2019 Season of Mist.    Flac CD Rip.

The mind and soul are our own churches.

Dimmu Borgir  'Eonian'  2018 Nuclear Blast Records.    Flac CD Rip.

THIEVERY CORPORATION - Treasures From The Temple

Classic Thievery combining their usual electronic downbeats with a reggae influence.

HOWE GELB - Snow Angel

Another classic folksy gospel rock americana album

MEDESKI MARTIN & WOODS with ALARM WILL SOUND - Omnisphere

Jazz meets neo-classical.

JS BACH - BRANDENBURG CONCERTOS, Linde Consort

Not strickly classical music (its baroque) but a classic never-the-less! ;)
