betocool Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Don't know if this was posted here... reckon not... not much activity lately. Anyhoooo.... If someone told me there's a cover of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" with a Japanese twist to it, I'd say meh. Well... it's the first thing that I thought. But click-bait is click-bait, and baited I was, so I clicked. Holy Mother of all what's good... she just blew me away! And this is sadly just the short version. The complete one comes with instrumental and all. Simply beautiful. Regina Spektor - While My Guitar Gently Weeps 3
emesbee Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Interesting, but for instrumental cover versions of this song you can't go past Jake Shimabukuro and his ukelele. This has become his signature song. There are quite a few videos of him performing it on youtube, and he tends to change the way he plays it a bit each time. 3

Sounds a little more 70s to me, I could imagine Uriah Heap doing a similar version.
Reverend Johnny Heathen Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Hmmm... Over 200 replies and I'm both tired and lazy, but has anyone mentioned Marilyn Mansons cover of Down In The Park? Still a fave of mine all these years later... https://www.google.co.nz/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwj1jafLxpjQAhUBtpQKHfeoB8kQ3ywIGzAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DH4IKA5lb7r4&usg=AFQjCNHJUEo6jCebCaKviwNNGpMFHVcLfw&sig2=ap_VWGnGFjn0bnjYGBEYXw&bvm=bv.137904068,d.dGo 1
comfortablynumb Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Andy Gibb covering his brothers. Managing to sound more like his brothers, than his brothers do, all by himself. Or perhaps it's just better.... What a crying shame. 1

t_mike Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Victor was a member of Bèla Fleck and the Flecktones. Some quirky jazz came out of those guys. 1

metal beat Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 Possible the best covers album. Bryan ferry - These Foolish Things. for an artist that writes his own songs, Bryan has always had a knack of interpreting other peoples songs in such a way that he generally makes them his own. the cover of Dylan's "A Hard Rain Is Gonna Fall "is insanely great. the rest of this 1973 album is not far behind. 1
