  5. Gday Roland, I very much like the looks of this. I own a RX A2070 and rate it highly, within my price range anyways. My good friend is looking to upgrade his setup and ask for my help. I have recommended this amplifier to him. Our problem is that we are both based in Sydney! Would you consider shipping to Sydney for us? If so would you be happy to accept $800 plus shipping costs? Kind regards, Lucas

  13. I bought a 1210 late last year... takes me back to good times just looking at it and I'm happy upgrading the parts to try and increase quality whilst retaining what will become vintage style ;-) However.. how to upgrade?? It would seem cartridge first, I have a Shure fitted. I also purchased 2 technics headshells, again to try and retain original look + they no long make them. What cartridge / pre amp combo would one recommend for old rock and funk LPs? (currently have behringer pp400 pre amp, goes alright but have never heard anything else).. how beneficial is re wiring and whom can do this for how much??... will look at tone arm but rather keep original. Cheers
  14. Old thread.. Newb user. Just purchased a 1210 cause its a bit cult classic for me and they no longer make them. Also purchased 2 second hand Technics head shells as they no longer supply them either. Now my aim is to try to keep it looking as original as possible but increase the quality via upgrades, wiring, cartridge etc? Any recommendations? Can of worms... open!
  15. Gday, Cheers for the speedy responses. They will actually be the KT3s. I heard these in store and was blown away. They were traded in and the store man pulled them out for me. That was with 80w and a tight room. The 2077 is rated at 140w and can bridge 2 channels per speaker within the reciever. What kicked me off was purely to make the most of the vinyl collection I am building. But I would like the AV to be versatile with multi zones, and streaming digital. I am currently running the 1210s through a phono pre stage and the gent in store suggested a good phono pre stage will out do most in built AV phono amps. The room size currently is small, we are in an apartment, but looking towards a home soon. The sound I'm looking for is crisp reproduction of classic bands heavy guitars and vocals. Old copies of Jimi Hendrix, Fleetwood, Stones etc plus funk albums. The KT3s are coming second hand for 600 which with my limited understanding of what's around seems pretty good. Could prob ably be cheaper.. not sure. I'm running an Ortofon cartridge too. I have sourced an original Technics headshell if I wanted to change stylus. Not sure on best combination on needle to deck for old rock albums but with all off this I've seen some pretty expensive options! Main aim is bang for buck and happy to deal in quality seconds to do so... We'll that's my story (essay.. sorry)
  16. Looking to purchase second hand Kelly KT2s and a Yamaha RXV2077.. Been bitten by the vinyl bug! I've heard good things about both components but thsee reviews may have been biased. Any other opinions on these or other quality components. Especially second hand pieces.
