  4. Further information: A beast of an integrated amp, it is near 20 kilos of solid metal. I have two, one I made into a purifi integrated amp as a bit of a fun DIY project and i'm going to keep that one for sentimentality more than anything. This being an old school stepped attenuator, it does make a 'pop' when you change the volume. It has two line level RCA inputs and one home theatre bypass or power amp input. Run a second set of speaker wire from the outposts to your high level input sub. If you need more inputs like I did, i recommend one of the douk audio switching boxes into line level 1 or two. What's great about these switches is that it gives you another 4 line level inputs and an additional switchable output which can go into your headphone amp. They are available here for about 80 bucks and objectively inaudible https://doukaudio.com/products/stereo-4-in-2-out-rca-audio-signal-splitter-switcher-selector-passive-preamp-85 Check out our own Cafad's review of the Amp here 80 watts a channel into 8 ohms and 140 watts into 4 ohms. 5. System consolidation time and making way for new house build. I have been on the fence with what to do for a while now, but I think its time to part with this and let someone else enjoy it. I'll hang onto the technics basically because its easy to change carts quickly with the SME style arm and its pretty good for the money. I'll be taking a considerable loss, so please keep your ridiculous offers to yourself... the arm alone is worth my asking price and every part is brand new excluding the external PSU which I have had for many years. I will crate it up properly in a custom ply crate to ship. I can include an upgraded Ortofon MC25E with FGS tip done by Van Den Hul for an additional $500 if required - but rather sell it with no cart.

  7. Further information: I bought this highly regarded vintage Sansui 555A a couple of years ago for my partner's system (along with a Primare D20 CD player and a pair of Celef Domestic Two speakers), but discovered when we moved in together a few weeks ago that she had never used it. No room for three+ systems, so various bits and pieces are now going up for sale. It works perfectly and has that sweet Sansui sound. It also has the ability to function as either a stand alone power amp or a separate preamp. Although rated at about 28W at 8 Ohms, it is actually quite powerful and has run a number of my speakers very adequately during testing. Cosmetically it has some minor blemishes and marks as you would expect from a vintage item, but nothing serious or obvious. Photos:
  8. Further information: This, my Lyra Kleos cartridge, has today been returned to me by the Australian distributors of Lyra, after having been rebuilt by hand to new condition by Lyra in Japan. It is indistinguishable from a newly purchased Lyra Kleos but for price: The RRP of a new Lyra Kleos is $6,500. The rebuild has taken the better part of a year! At $6500, many regard the Lyra Kleos as the best sounding and most revealing cartridge at anywhere near its price. It is an incredible sounding cartridge, especially when it comes to focusing in on each soloist and voice in a performance. Truly amazing. At the price I am asking there is no cartridge which comes anywhere near it. For reasons of severe financial pressure, I've reverted to my old retipped Shelter 501 Mk 2, which sounds great for the price but delivers so much less of the musical experience than the Kleos does. There really is no comparison, but I can't afford to keep the Kleos. Specifications: Designer: Jonathan Carr Builder: Yoshinori Mishima (final build and testing), Akiko Ishiyama (preliminary build) Type: Medium weight, medium compliance, low impedance moving coil cartridge Frequency range: 10Hz-50kHz Channel separation: 35dB or better at 1kHz Output voltage: 0.5mV@5cm/sec Cartridge weight: 8.8g Recommended tracking force: 1.75g Recommended load directly into MC phono input: 86.6ohms - 47kohms based on listening or setting by guidelines in provided instructions (further specs in instruction sheet) Photos: PLEASE READ If you include any reference to pricing whatsoever in this section (excluding RRP), your ad will not be approved If you are advertising multiple items, you must post one bulk price only, or post seperate ads for each item If you don't include photographs of the actual item being sold, your ad will not be approved You understand that a reasonable donation for selling fees is expected upon successful sale of your item - if you have previously sold items and not made a donation, your advertisement may not be approved.
  9. Further information: Further information: I haven't added anymore hours since the last time these were advertised and nothing else has changed condition wise. Cabinets in cherry are still unmarked, the electronics and drivers are still functioning without fault. Purchased from Sublime Hifi 29/07/20, which leaves 5 years on the transferable warranty. There's also been a price increase, rrp is now $10,150. This is a wicked combo of speaker, active x-over and amplification for the asking price. Some ATC aficionados rate them above the passive SCM 40's. My 4.8m x 3.8 room is a goodish size but these will drive a bigger room. With a dedicated amp for each driver, active ATC are 6db more efficient than their passive counterparts. And ATC design in a generous amount of Class A bias. Come with the factory packaging, power cords, spikes, literature, speaker covers and a 3m pair of Inakustik Premium xlr. Interstate buyers to arrange freight at their own cost and risk but I'm happy to assist in any way I can, including drop off at a freight depot if required. Packaging is heavy double box with quality foam inserts. Packaging dimensions- 109 x 47 x 39, 35kg each. Power cords and xlr in pics are aftermarket and not included in sale. 14. Further information: RRP $14,000. Still under warranty - purchased from Carlton Audio Visual in July 2020. The flagship model in the twenty5 series is also the most capable. The mid-range dome driver makes it the most revealing while the substantial bass driver coupled to an extended 3.3m ATL produces tangible bass that brings music to life. 15. Further information: I'm selling my Wharfdale Diamond 230 floorstanding speakers. My better half never liked them. We are getting a new TV unit and its time to go back to bookshelves. Black glossy front with black ash sides. Speaker covers have never been off. They're in really good condition. One minor ding and couple of small scratches but not very noticable at all. See photos. 16. Further information: With the turntable shelf this rack has 4 tiers with the 3 lower tiers accepting slimline components only. For example PS Audio gear like the Directstream, BHK etc fit perfectly. In the past I have removed a shelf to create a 3 tier rack allowing for over sized components. It's quite flexible. Along with the large turntable shelf there are 4x Discs Of Silence fixed to the top pillars isolating the turntable and shelf, these are the 3 spring variety isolating gear between 20 - 45kg, more springs can be added to increase load bearing capacity. The pillars are filled with medium river sand which is an absolute necessity for a rack like this. A replacement unit would cost around $3600 from Krispy so a little under half price. Not interested in shipping. Photos:
  17. Aesthetix Janus - Signature Valve Preamp (MM/MC Phono Stage) 13k RRP Purchased from fellow SNA member earlier this year, excellent unit - but I am consolidating my system and this is no longer required in the new setup. One of the best phono pre's I have ever heard and very flexible config with balanced and SE outputs that can be used at same time for Bi/Tri amping setups. A couple of minor marks, hence the bargain price, but very hard to see unless up close and from the right angle. Original box, manual, remote and shipping anywhere in AUS included. Specs: https://nirvanasound.com/product/aesthetix-janus/ The Aesthetix Janus is a full-function all-tube preamplifier with six line level inputs and one phono input. The Janus represents the key features of Rhea phono stage and Calypso line stage combined into a single chassis. All tube amplification and output, a fully balanced line stage, discrete switched resistor volume control, versatile single-ended and balanced inputs and outputs, and dual-mono audio boards are all part of sophisticated Janus design. The full function remote controls all preamp and phono functions, including gain, loading, absolute phase and the internal demagnetiser. True to its Saturn Series heritage, the build and sound quality of Janus have won it global praise, including the 2010 and 2011 TAS Editor’s Choice Awards. The Janus has the following features: Fully balanced differential line-level circuitry with ability to internally balance a single ended input signal. RCA and XLR provided for each input. Discrete resistor volume control with 88 1dB steps. Zero feedback. Phono input: 40-75dB gain maximum, selectable via front panel or remote control. Built-in MC cartridge demagnetizer. 9 MC loading settings: 75-47,000 ohms, selectable via front panel or remote control. All tube amplification and output (12 tubes total). Two sets of XLR and two sets of RCA outputs per channel. Bypass mode for home theatre processor throughput. Absolute phase, selectable via front panel or remote control. Full function remote included. All of this attention to detail has resulted in a full-function preamplifier that transcends what is normally expected from an audiophile piece of equipment. The Janus scales heights that are normally the realm of uber-expensive products and it does it with ease. Sound quality is the prime objective here and the Janus is a phenomenal achievement. This value for money quality is spoken about in all the audio press and the Janus has accumulated many awards & accolades. These reasons are why Aesthetix products have developed a passionate following around the world. Old Listing Here:

  19. Further information: I purchased these new in 1980. The first twenty years of their life they were powered by a Sansui AU417 and used in an A/B setup with my other vintage speakers (also for sale on this forum). They were used as either rear speakers in a 5.1 setup or side speakers in a 7.1 setup. As rear speakers go they're more than capable for MCH music including DVD-A and SACD. For movies they're great. At one point I had the LF sound going to my two fronts as well as these 🙂 Sonically they are fine. Aesthetically they are certainly showing their age and some. I no longer have the front grills. The dust caps have been pushed in (by grandaughters) but this doesn't effect sound. They were serviced at Speaker Hospital in 2017. Specs in one of the photos Photos:

  25. Paradigm Signature S8 v3: ($15,595.00 AUD RRP) After making a substantial upgrade (in terms of both size and cost), it is time to put my beloved Paradigm Signature S8 v3 speakers up for sale. They are the Cherry finish and are in excellent condition with no visible flaws or marks and drivers in A1 condition. These are fantastic speakers that just drip detail, have great bass response and perform amazingly in a home theatre or 2 channel setup (or in a combined version of both as I was previously using them). I am the original owner and pending COVID lockdowns and restrictions, I would be happy to entertain a demo to any serious buyer so you can check the excellent condition of these speakers and their amazing sound. I’m in no rush to sell these, so low-ballers be pre-warned; I may elect to just move them to guest accommodation on our property. Please do not ask for postal information as these are very heavy and large speakers and I do not have the original packing materials. I am willing to deliver free of charge to anywhere in the Melbourne Metro area (I’ll do the careful driving) or pickup can be arranged directly from me in the Macedon Ranges (30 mins from Sunbury or Melbourne airport). They were rated in the top 25 speakers of all time by http://audiophilereview.com/audiophile/the-25-ultimate-audiophile-speakers-of-all-time.html “When it comes to audiophile grade floorstanding loudspeakers, names like Revel, Wilson Audio and Bowers & Wilkins are often dropped – but at one third the price, the Paradigm Reference Signature S8s hang right in there with the 800s and WATT Puppies of the world.” These speakers are exceptional and sound as good as they look. Paradigm’s Signature series speakers have superb build quality and exquisite styling. Their feminine curves are balanced by the rugged ISO shock mounting that couples the super-Neodynium mid range drivers and 4 mineral filled polypropylene bass drivers. They reveal immense clarity and detail across a wide sound stage with a sense of space and ease. At 92dB sensitivity they work effortlessly. These were the top of the line Paradigm speakers for many years and this is the last series of Signature speakers they made. Given their high sensitivity and 8 Ohm nominal impedance, pretty much any amp out there will drive these with ease. There is no shortage of outstanding reviews for the Signature series: http://www.theaudiobeat.com/equipment/paradigm_signature_s8_v3.htm “They sound leaner and slightly quicker off the mark throughout their range than the [Wilson] Sashas, and when it comes to conveying space and apparent detail, the Paradigm speakers are more demonstrative, especially in the treble, which is finely variegated and delicately balanced. I've yet to hear a sub-$10,000 speaker that's better than the S8 v3, and I've heard many, many that are far more expensive and not nearly as accomplished in both general and specific ways.” http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/paradigm/3.html “wonderfully transparent and easily one of the least colored most revealing speakers I have tried.. Instruments sounded natural and correct. I heard an enormous amount of inner musical detail that was startling in its clarity, immediacy, transient snap and fluidity. Bass notes came and went with little sense of bloat or overhang. Drums were full, real and visceral. The leading edge and sheer punch of kick drum were invigorating.” http://hometheaterreview.com/paradigm-reference-signature-s8-v3-loudspeakers-reviewed/ “You could talk about the S8 versus other loudspeakers in the $4,000 to $10,000 price range but the Paradigms simply wipe the floor with nearly every player in that part of the market on most levels...the Paradigm Signature S8 is possibly the best value in high-end loudspeakers period.” http://www.avrev.com/home-theater-loudspeakers/speaker-systems/paradigm-reference-signature-series-review-2.html “Their effortless sound created an extraordinary sense of space like very few dynamic speakers I’ve heard at any price. In many ways, their sound reminded me of the Revel Salon speakers, but for less than half the cost.” Features: P-Be™ Pure-Beryllium Tweeter Domes. Pure beryllium was chosen for its exceptional thermal, physical and mechanical properties: lighter than diamond or aluminum with unmatched rigidity. Response is instantaneous and extraordinarily uniform. Elevating the dome promoted optimal off-axis dispersion. ARB™ Aperiodic Resonance Breakup Fins. Die-cast aluminum fins in rear damping chamber capture and quickly disperse residual internal resonances, rendering them inert. Co-PAL™ Cobalt-Infused Anodized Pure-Aluminum Midrange Cones. Combine high stiffness-to-mass with superior internal damping for an even greater degree of accuracy. The result is smooth, uncolored frequency response. Dual ATC™ Asymmetrical Tapered Channels. Precision die-cast aluminum chamber with tapered dual interior channels provide optimal volume. The asymmetrical design dissipates the back wave while the center of the chamber is direct-coupled to the huge magnet structure, providing an efficient thermal escape path for heat generated by the voice coil. Strategically positioned cooling fins on the rear of the chamber transfer heat away from the motor. Injection-Molded Mineral-Filled Polypropylene Bass Cones. The mineral content, now 30%, and the injection-molding process have resulted in a far more rigid cone. The improvements reveal a dramatic increase in repeatability as well as consistency of performance SPECIFICATIONS: DESIGN 6-driver, 3-way floorstanding CROSSOVER 3rd-order electro-acoustic at 2.0 kHz; 2nd-order electro-acoustic at 230 Hz (bass drivers) FREQUENCY RESPONSE ON-AXIS ±2dB from 39 Hz - 45 kHz HIGH FREQUENCY DRIVER 25-mm (1 in) P-Be™ dome, ferro-fluid damped / cooled, rear damping chamber with ARB™ fins and integrated heatsink, dual super-neodymium ring magnets, die-cast heatsink chassis, IMS/SHOCK-MOUNT™ MIDRANGE FREQUENCY DRIVER 178-mm (7 in) Co-PAL™ cone, ferro-fluid damped / cooled, ATC™ chambers, 38-mm (1-1/2 in) dual-layer voice-coil, super-neodymium ring magnets, AVS™ die-cast heatsink chassis, IMS/SHOCK-MOUNT™ LOW FREQUENCY EXTENSION 24 Hz (DIN) LOW FREQUENCY DRIVER Four 178-mm (7 in) mineral-filled polypropylene cones, overmolded NLC™ surrounds, 38-mm (1-1/2 in) four-layer long-excursion voice-coils, massive hard ferrite magnets, AVS™ die-cast heatsink chassis, IMS/SHOCK-MOUNT™ SENSITIVITY ROOM / ANECHOIC 92 dB / 89 dB FREQUENCY RESPONSE 30° OFF-AXIS ±2dB from 39 Hz - 20 kHz SUITABLE AMPLIFIER POWER RANGE 15 - 500 watts MAXIMUM INPUT POWER 250 watts IMPEDANCE Compatible with 8 ohms DIMENSIONS HXWXD 48.5" × 8.5" × 20.5" (123.2cm × 21.6cm × 52.1cm) WEIGHT 100 lbs.
