Yesterday I picked up another nice bundle of CD's for $1 a pop from Vinnie's... Played a few last night after a few pipes for the first time in a long time... Black Cab "Jesus East" Inertia Records. Mushroom Music, Aust. I read somewhere in here recently about buying music based on the album cover. I have bought many albums this way, a few duds but some real gems too. This only cost $1, fair enough, little risk there. The album art caught my attention, then the name and title, then the record label Inertia. I know nothing about them except what I just read on-line. Described as Indie Rock, Electronica, Neo Psychedelia, Krautrock with Far Eastern instrumentation. Interesting and engaging, nice sound and another little gem. Pearl Jam "Riot Act" 2002 Epic Records. Sony Music, Aust. I'm only familiar with the first three Pearl Jam albums. I was tempted to change Cd's about three songs in, but stuck with it and it certainly paid off. Having not heard any of their later work, and not listening to them for some time it was very enjoyable. Red Hot Chili Peppers "One Hot Minute" 1995 Warner Bros. Records Inc. WEA Records, Aust. It's them same with these guys. I stopped listening to them and haven't heard any of the later albums. I have five or six of their first CD's. A real treat to hear this one too. A matured sound with a cool psychedelic edge at times. A great sounding CD to boot. ... and just about to spin this one, also from yesterday's Op Shopping... alt-J "An Awesome Wave" 2012 Liberator Music. Infectious Music, U.K. I have this as a flac file on the hard drive, nice to have the CD now. A great album and artist. Perfect for a crisp, sunny morning. Great pick up there. Love the track Walkabout on the RHCP CD. Had this one from when it was released. (My Hi-Fi set up has moved a long way since then.)

Not sure yet if it is my favourite KM albums but definitely prefer this to City Music. Good to hear. What about it do you like cf City Music? I really like Singing Saw but frankly the cover put me off this one!

Paul Porky
I’ve been filing gaps in my CD collection replacing mp3 burned discs with the real thing. This is a great album from the Unplugged series that was the sound track to a memorable trip through Mt Augustus through to Karanjini in the early 2000’s. Great sounding too all for $7. Love CDs Cheers Paul Edited May 11, 2019 by Porky63 Addition

cazzesman
Scintillating slab of blues infused rockin' goodness. Like Eric Steckel, Philip is another hugely under-rated slinger. The World is littered with them I know but this guys has the jobs and passion. Regards Cazzesman
