I'm still noticing a lack of Red Shag-pile and fluffy dice Darth......

Thanks @Kaynin I'm pretty happy with it. Its not as flash as some of the others here but it does me ok.

Its a listening room Marty, not a Valiant Panelvan. That said, some fluffy dice might be a good talking point. Now, just gotta find a good spot to hang the fox tail.

The fluffy dice probably should be hung from the end of the fluorescent light, the end nearest the speakers.

 

Just low enough for those of us who can, hit their head on them?

 

@darth vader how is the room now the "lounge" has been given the heave ho?

 

I guess you will need to look out for a nice listening chair?

@soundbyte Its a lot better Russ. A bit more space is helpful too. Yes, I'm looking for a couple of nice chairs now. Upside down milk crates just dont have the bling I'm looking for?

Saw a couple of black recliner chairs on the road here in Adelaide tonight, might have been OK if I had got to them before the rain.

Spoke to man about a horse today, the horse being some left over acoustic treatments

 

They may offer a more realistic permanent solution to the hastily installed egg carton foam roof treatments that seemed to work but looked like a box of busted hammers.

 

Swapped out my old fluro lights for some nice LED tubes with diffusers. Mucho Brighto now. Almost too much with half the power use.

 

Spoke to another man about a different horse. This horse being some nice hardwood slabs for rack upgrade. Gotta go check out what he has and see if it will work with my mental picture. Thinking redgum slab shelfs with filled stainless frame and sandstone plinths for gear. Lots of possibilities there

Noice - the LM502-CA there - standard or modded? what you think? I've had one forever it seems and still not motivated to upgrade - well unless I can scrap[e together enough cash for a Volta - now I've heard that I can never un-hear it !!

A J. Its had some mods. Some fancy tubes which I cant recall completely atm.  But the Burson V6 vivid op amps (plug and play) really picked it up.

 

This in large part thanks to Red, he helped me a lot there.I havn't gone as far as cap upgrades that Red has, but I'm sure if you ask him he will say what he did to his LM dac. In stock form they are so-so, but with some mods and some good tubes they really sing. A GEC rectifier would be the start point imo.

 

That said, I've geared my set up with a focus on vinyl, digital source has been a secondary consideration. Not saying digital doesn't have a place, I've heard some nice digi rigs but I like black disc's. Digital is hard to beat for convenience though.

I've got quite a bit of left over primacoustic materials from a london 12 kit I bought, all boxed and pristine.  You interested darth vader?

It was a DIY thing by a guy in the UK that had it up for sale back in July 2005.

The plans were available online but have since disappeared.

Thats so cool in such an ultra nerdy way. Darth on the other hand is anti-nerd but still this would be a great addition to his lair.
