But what was 'all sorted'? Andy Hi Andy I was waiting for the Commonwealth turntable to come up for sale. As for your question my current tonearm wouldn’t fit. Last night picked up a loaner. Got me wondering whether the cartridge is wood bodied too Cheers Ticc I am running the Sound Smith Denon 103 ruby cantilever cart but in stock body. I ain’t brave enough to install a wood body. Thanks I do like the uncluttered look.

mwhouston
I don’t know how many members get on Face Book market place but there is stacks of gear for sale on their. Often very nice, as new, quality speakers - Mission, Warfdale etc. - at very good prices. Lots of TTs though the better Technics etc. are higher priced. For anyone putting together a system for the first time or a second system or just some alternative gear, i think, a good place to go. Of course checkout our local classifieds first. Steever
Finally back in the office today after 5 months of health related leave (all is ok). certainly a bit of a departure from ESLs, monoblocks and high quality streaming. but, it’ll do for now. I work in an open office so even small active speakers are out of question despite desk real estate being more than substantial.
Wimbo
Just fully refurbished the home. This is the downstairs rumpus room where the HiFi has gone. Starting to sound good, even on Spotify. A touch bright, as you would expect but easy to handle. Good focus to the point where I had to drop the right hand speaker down a mil and a half to solidify centre image as it was firing a touch to high where the seated position is and moving the sound stage over to the left. I also initially used the Monobloks (see sig) but found Mark Houston's Holton build was way better driving the 401's. Room is double brick on a slab with 9 foot ceiling. Good views outside, great in the arvo, backyard is a National Park. Pics were taken at 2.45pm. 24

Blinds down, a little better. Blinds up and louvres open, awesome. I also have nothing (walls) behind me for at least 4m and I think this makes for the biggest improvement over what I had previously when I had my back to the vertical posts and stairs now to the left of my listening seat.

That’s interesting , with the ML being dipole, I would have thought the rear waves reflecting off the window , might have made for some challenges? What’s the view across the road?,
