From the experience in my last job - absolutely a picture of management thinking in Government entities today!  :(  I would suggest private industry is not quite so, let's say, "misguided"?

A balding, white haired man walked into a jewelry store last Friday evening with a beautiful much younger gal at his side. He told the jeweler he was looking for a special ring for his girlfriend. The jeweler looked through his stock and brought out a $5,000 ring.
The man said, "No, I'd like to see something more special."
At that statement, the jeweler went to his special stock and brought another ring over. "Here's a stunning ring at only $40,000," the jeweler said.
The lady's eyes sparkled and her whole body trembled with excitement. The old man seeing this said, "We'll take it."
The jeweler asked how payment would be made and the man stated, "By check. I know you need to make sure my check is good, so I'll write it now and you can call the bank Monday to verify the funds; I'll pick the ring up Monday afternoon."
On Monday morning, the jeweler angrily phoned the old man and said, "Sir...There's no money in that account."
''I know," said the old man..., "But let me tell you about my weekend."

The world laughed at us with our rapid prime minister changes. Certainly taken the heat off us.

Sad to say Andy,  private industry isn’t all that different from government autocracy run dept,  this Schitt goes on all the time and anywhere.   Hence the reason I stayed at this level and had no desire to climb to the top even though I was a sup at one stage with management qualifications,  I’d came back to be a tech!   The ones that get promoted mostly brown nose and are groomed to follow suit.   There has been that many redundancies b4 and during COVID that we have lost 70% of foot troops on the ground yet now there are more Chief than Indians who have no idea about what’s happening out there making decisions so it justifies there position with well decorated song and dance routine as presentations.  What naturally happens in my 40yrs in the work force is that when a CEO or a GM is appointed,  they rearrange the corporate ladder and make positions redundant only to rename it and slot  some of there mates in these positions so they feel warm fussy!    If you have any disagreements it’s usually you who will be considered on the chopping block,  and yes it’s the reason I stayed where I am!   If they came up to me and offered a cushy position I’d have no interest but to declined the offer,  seen it so many times!  CEO who have this mentality usually leave in 6-18mths and usually leave the organisation in a worst position than they left it, hence they go around claiming what they did to promote there next appointment.  Rant over, just my $0.02 worth to get it out of my system🤪

and here was me thinking my post was a funny one 😂

It showed the lunacy though of shiny bums and their decisions they make -

just cut out the "real" workers -

one can see what Australia Post has become due to this too.

Strangely enough, that is probably exactly what is happening. The eyes down and right indicate kinesthetic processing/accessing of memories, etc., and those thoughts are the slowest to get at and the hardest to put into words.

Verbal counselling and therapy with kinesthetic thinkers can be very challenging.

Best to save the therapy for the man who just **** his pants but is denying it.

It is a funny post @April Snow  Don’t get me wrong.   It isn’t funny when you see work colleagues leave in this manner!    Yes they get a pay out!   Then they have to find another job to pay the bills, …… during COVID lock down isn’t ideal!    You think Aussie Post is bad,  there are other organisation that’s worst; think Qantas!   The Federal Government goes in to bail Qantas out with $Billions,  yet the CEO sack them all and contracted the work out,  he reckoned he cried when he made that decision!   Yeah sure  he balled his eyes out when he awarded himself $24M! Annual salary for the year!   …..during lock down when all the planes were grounded!   And here I was,  in another organisation forced into reduced hours,  forced annual leave….and wondered when all this will end!
