Hi all,

I've been swapping and changing hardware over the past 4 months in the new house. Wanted something small, but turned out something bigger :thumb:

Stated with a Denon DRA-N5 and some Klipsch speakers (seen below)

Then bought a Marantz CR-610 (AWESOME) and adding a Parasound Halo A-21 (shortly) and have some great JBL SVA-2100 speakers

Denon 3930 SACD player and just ordered some SVS PB-2000 subs (had various Velodyne ones over the past few months)
A Synology NAS keeps all the music playing around the house too

Anyway, here is how it looks TODAY, more pics when the subs arrive

So, this is how the setup currently looks:

The AWESOME JBL SVA-2100 speakers:

The sub on the left, I bought off ebay and didn't work when I got it home :(

Quite a change around. Will watch with interest as the equipment evolves and you might also want to invest in some basic room treatments to get the best sound. A rug and possibly bass traps and diffusers would assist

Thanks everyone. I need to fixup the layout of the pics and add some comments to them.

It's been a fun few months, 6 different Velodyne subs. Klipsch to the JBL's (that sound AWESOME) I love horn loaded speakers.

Once I get my rack of silence, Parasound amp and the subs arrive I'll be happy. Then just a pre amp and turntable to go.

The lighting is cool (cheap too)

Cheers

Wow that looks remarkable. I saw your title and thought "no way a wife could 100% approve a room" hahaha

I am really interested how you did your lighting in the room. Was it difficult to do?

They're just halogen lights. Beacon lighting have them for like $9 a globe. I asked for 'blue halogen' They look a LOT better in the flesh than any photo I can take of them (only two globes for all this)

Bunnings sell them too I think.

I liked them so much I put them in the garden too :D

Nice thoughtful set-up Steve, impressed ...but vinyl is for listening to, not hanging on a wall! :P

That's why the vinyl is in frames so no damage for when I get a nice turntable :D

Looks fantastic Steve. Humour me , ( trainspotter tendencies here) what is the right end, centre row album?

ZM.

Bleach - Nirvana. That one ?

Beautiful stuff Steve, did you get the Parasound gear? There's some nice kit for sale in the classifieds.

Love the '1982 with a bullet' LP, that was the first full length tape I ever owned, bought it from Chandlers in Grafton. :)

Prior to that, I had some vinyl singles but that was that.

Looks fantastic mate. Would love to hammer out some driving progressive trance through those speakers.

I ordered two SVS PB-2000's subs and they've arrived. Going to pick them up soon. Picks to come later tonight :thumb:

I'm expecting big performance from them

And big performance is what you will get hahaha. They are remarkable subwoofers. Me and my mate are very happy with them (he has 2, I have one for now hehe)

They are very low hitting and very smooth frequency response from 17hz +-3db.

Okay, here they are :love  Had to put the kids into after school care as they took up all the boot/back seat space :thumb:

Now I've connected them to the sub out via a splitter and had them in the LFE and L/R. While I'm yet to crank them all up. DJ Ice Man J played LOW. Other tracks sound nice too. But I have the volume level to almost max

Need to play around and perhaps placement too, but the other subs sounded great where these are too.

More to come. Beer/Music/Testing. I'll get the SPL meter out later and see it how it goes.
