Why can't you use the View All Ads button?

Defeats the purpose to some extent if everyone is just using the view all option

No it doesn't,  it's giving people options.

Not everyone is using that option.

I very much enjoy just browsing vinyl records.
If I want to window shop I can select all ads or create my own feed

You can also select the main heading and see all ads in that heading if you don’t want to select “all ads”

I know this is a small thing on the Create New Stream but some time could you possibly think of renaming the Ads to Classifieds?

I actually thought it was for advertisements on the pages. 🙂

At least I know what it is now though.

It was intentionally named different while there is a transition period, for technical reasons - but also to avoid confusion between the two systems. Once the transition is complete, all references will be changed to Classifieds.

this is what i am talking about ... there is the old world of classifieds .. which is the picture /screen shot you posted.... in it is want to buy great deals etc and the new world (global classifieds) is a link to it from there ?

if you access the classifieds like i suggested through the 3 bars on the phone it takes you to new world of classifieds and you cant see want to buy or great deals etc.

hence the questions above ...

its two parallel universes.. or hemispheres...

the forum itself if scroll through seems to feature links to this new world but mostly as looking at your screen shot above is greatly old world...

It actually is two parallel universes until at a time soon, they will be able to become one. These things take time to transition, and to reprogram, condense, combine etc. We are in a transition period at present. All will be simplified as time permits.

BUG: If you are on page one in condensed view, then go to page two it reverts back to expanded. Then, if you change to condensed, it takes you back to page one.

Noted- thank you.

Good to see some members chipping in to answer questions, rather than @Marc having to answer every one 👍

RE: FINDING HOW TO JUST BROWSE ALL THE CLASSIFIED ADS (over the last 24 hours) STARTING WITH THE MOST RECENT.

Thanks Marc. I can sit back down in my chair now...

I think this is the thing to select the browse recent ads.

Thanks very much.

And for anyone as web-challenged as me you can browse all the latest classifieds in the broader sub-categories - these areas on the screen can be touched to open the latest ads.....

This has been resolved.

You can now manage images and change the order.

When things settle down and I get some more time I will start creating some How To's ... but in the meantime this should point you in the right direction:

That made a difference; it allowed me to select multiple categories. I had tried doing the same thing in the 'Search Ads' panel but it allowed only one category to be selected at a time. Suggested improvement: allow categories to be de-selected (if I want to view most categories except one or two, it would save a lot of time de-selecting one or two rather than selecting almost every other categories). Thank you.

Unfortunately this is core forum feature/function, and not part of our developed 'app', so we don't have any control over that aspect.

We will start work on integrating WTB and FREE type ads into the new Classifieds this coming week.

We'll also look at a new version of the "Great Deals, Specials & Bargains" type posts that can also be posted to a new part of the Classifieds.

Simple is beaty.

communities like Stereonet as the simplicity and not to deal with forest of information like Ebay.

i love to check every hour on sna and follow up whatever ad from cheap to expensive. New classified now looks too commercial and think a 60-70 year old not IT savy to deal with crazy amount of information and conditions.

i know many audiophiles are not really computer savvy and really struggle to post

The numbers posting and viewing in the classifieds tell a different story

In the Old version, I had 2 classifieds forums bookmarked. Amps etc and cables etc. All we had was condensed view.

Now I use *All ads in *Expanded view.

Guess what? I now find it actually takes Less time this new way than the old.

Some reasons why...

I can see a great snapshot of the whole Ad with a cover pic. Often that's all I need and move on or open in new tab. Paradoxically, with the old condensed view I would often have to go to the Ad in new tab only to see it wasn't up my alley.

So now I can see all the Ads, even random stuff, but it is actually a more efficient use of time to have that thumbnail view of the whole ad.

Great work!

Thank you for the feedback and for giving it some time to see how it works for you.

There is nothing the new system can't do, that the old could - and there's now an almost limitless way of doing other things.

IME, the only complaints so far are from those that have not bothered to read this thread, and/or spend time actually trying it out.

Sorry if this feedback is unwanted - but I don’t even look at the classifieds anymore.

At least on phone (all I use for the internet nowadays) it’s too muddled and busy.

Too many photos that my brain doesn’t know whether are the add above or below.

It would be nice to be able to look at say “speakers” instead of having to look at bookshelves and floorstanders separately.

As mentioned in this thread if you click the “Loudspeakers” heading it brings up all the speakers listed.
This can be done on the mobile view
