ELO-Face The Music. A recent clear vinyl re-issue by some German mob Legacy through Sony. A bit soft and wooly 58fefecd620d4_FaceTheMusic.thumb.jpg.7a3d7319723fca451f5730edc0efed9a.jpgon the bottom end but as my only other copy of this cracker of an album is a bootleg tape from Riyadh airport sometime in the late 70s it's an improvement.

Check out Frederick Septimus Kelly (posted yesterday, link below), he survived Gallipoli, only to loose his life in the battle of the Somme the following year. This version is hauntingly beautiful, written for his friend the English poet Rupert Brooke. He was friends with composers such as Ravel & there are clear echos of Ralph Vaughan Williams (think Lark ascending), but still wholly original.
