Thanks mate. Picked up the record rack from a guy on gumtree. Will be looking to add the matching power amp in the near future. Did you get your SGR's back from the upgrade?

Ahh...going through your thread @Cardiiiii just realised i missed this.  Yes, had the SGR's back over a year now, the mk2 upgrade well worth it.  But they're now in a new home, different layout with average room acoustics, thankfully, they have filters to drop the bass down by -6db..otherwise it sounds overpowering and boomy.

The room itself isn't an upgrade as such but it will look much nicer and there might be some new hardware!

It does sound great and I am pretty happy. I've got a couple of upgrades on the way. So hopefully will have them by the weekend and give them a go.

All cables have already been updated to WE!

I recall Mike Lenahan was developing an add-on isolation device for speaker stands ; Those ML1 Reference are fabulous speakers. He is probably too busy with the new speaker development but he has some great ideas up his sleeve.

System as it is today.

Out

Cambridge Audio CXN V2

Isotek Aquarius EVO 3

Bills Boutique/Lenehan Ribbontek/Ribbonflex Cables

In

Innuos Zen Mini Mk3 w/Gieseler LPS

PS Audio P10

Bills WE Cables ( I will never understand why I asked for 3m speaker cables when I only need 2m)

All components have now been hard wired to the router and the router itself has an upgraded ultra low noise LPS which I picked up off fleabay and I must admit it is very well built. I previously had streaming issues with my old ISP, and I just had enough so I went with the fastest plan that Aussie Broadband offered and I have never slept better.

Needless to say the system is sounding the best it ever has. Can't comment on the changes that individual components have made but overall things I've noticed: More instrument separation/insane bass/better imaging both front to back and side to side resulting in a more holographic sound.

Waiting on a hifi rack that is currently being made at the fine workshop of Grizzly Audio Works so that I can let the set up be, for now. My mind is already on where I'd like to go to next.

Did you notice an improvement with/without the P10 in the current setup?  I tried one on loan for a week from a local hifi dealer 3 years ago and the improvement was minimal for me on my system.

You'd be surprised that it may come in handy the extra meter will be once you re-org the system in the future 🤣

I'd like to think a lot of the difference is down to it. For a start the noise floor is a lot lower. And it has 9 inputs vs the 6 of in the Aquarius.

Ah, Cardiiiii, I saw what you did there.  The subtle, unspoken upgrade from a cup of tea in August to a glass of red in October😎
