  1. It seems like they re-acquired some of the design ideas from the staff that started Rosson Audio designs, with that outer cup design, unashamed rip off of that model. Real advancement seems to be weight loss, 420g is light for an Audeze.
  2. Innuos is a great option as already mentioned. There is also the Auralic Aries G1. Which sounds fantastic too, does not have an organic ripper but you can attach an external ripper (even a relatively cheap one) and the dac and memory use the data to extract or record high quality audio. It also functions as a high quality DAC/PRE.
  3. It would be interesting to hear. I’ve not heard the Buchardts, but I’ve owned the 60xd’s,they are quite excellent but they don’t have the room correction/dsp functionality as the Buchardts which would be handy in difficult rooms. But I think the 60XD would be better compared to the a700’s, there is no way the a500’s could have the same power and bass reach of the 60XD, unless they have some alien technology. Let’s not forget the60xd is a 15k speaker.
  4. Cork is also quite good at isolating at a very low price; https://www.bunnings.com.au/305-x-305-x-6mm-natural-cork-tile-6-pack_p6690244 You don’t say how big or heavy your speakers are, which may help. But seriously, don’t mess about just get the Isoacoustics pucks or even better, get the aperta stands, these are about as good as it gets to isolate on a sideboard or desk etc at reasonable cost. Even if your speakers are cheap, you can always upgrade later and the Isoacoustics will still be there letting the new speakers perform in that setting.
  5. Probably one of the best finishes on a sanely priced speaker out there. Sound great too. I’m sensing sarcasm, but thanks 🙏 Wonder if the Copland 150 would sound good with Epicon, probably..

  7. Thanks Terry; I just realised some sites are still quoting the pre September prices. But the gaps between models are still much the same. i may go have a listen to the 704’s post lockdown, they do interest me for sure.
  8. Ended up getting these from Amazon for $68 on the current special, seemed to well priced to pass up, thanks all; https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07DVR2TS1/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  9. Thanks Terry; I was interested as I see the pricing is quite interesting, 19k v 24k, if you can afford it, it would be hard to justify the 703 unless your room couldn’t sustain the size of the 704. I would be quite surprised if most don’t opt for the 704 over the smaller speaker Would love to try the 704… Edit; F1-8 at 13k v F701 at 10k is even more perplexing, same size driver but only 3k difference, who is going to buy the 701 for 10k, Don’t expect an answer on this Terry just seems like odd pricing.
  10. Hey Terry, Is there a lot of difference between the 703 and 704 ?
  11. Added some Isoacoustics Gaia ii to my C2’s. I was a bit worried about loss of bass, but the overall effect is excellent, really cleans up the mid and bass. Overall clarity and soundstage are improved very nicely considering the relatively low cost. Highly recommended.
