Rainy day here. So playing my backlog of newbies.

Ghostpoet/I Grow Tired But Dare Not Fall Asleep.

 

Picked this up because it was only 20 bucks. Was pleasantly surprised when l played it. Great story teller. Great voice.

When l googled him, l found out that he had been nominated (twice) for the Mercury Music Prize. Apparently he's a big deal in the UK.

 

 

Followed by Bernard Fanning/Brutal Dawn.

About to play a newbie of his l received a couple of weeks ago.  Great talent.

And here it is:

Jake Bugg/Saturday night Sunday morning (2021)

 

Listened to side one. Toe tapping stuff indeed.

This might be my fave album of his. A lot different to his earlier stuff.

 

SQ is off the charts. No clicks and clacks...so far. Which is a bonus for me, lately.

It's a good album though he doesn't have any duds. Mine is a little noisy from memory though it is white vinyl which probably explains it

Been chasing this record for a long time. Found a limited 20th Anniversary Edition (pretty blue with metallic silver).

 

The Postal Service and their album, Give Up. Also. Sounding great too so far.

'Tis great too. SQ is excellent. That's three for three today. Not like Sunday's listen whereby the sonics of Rice Bubbles were on full display.

 

Hoping a clean on the VPI might sort 'em out. But not holding my breath.

 

Got the urge to play some prog. So out come the CDs.

I am sure you will find a good clean on the VPI will be a massive improvement when you play those "rice bubble" discs.

Nothing gets on my deck - old or new - without a clean prior - kinder to the stylus too.

New LPs do need a clean just to remove any residue or paper sleeve dust alone that can be embedded in the grooves, especially if they have been in transit a long time.

I hope the VPI sorts our your LPs so you can enjoy them 😊😊

Wow.  How time flies.  I got the 10th anniversary deluxe version 10 years ago 🙂
