Very interested. Did you buy it directly from their web site?
I’m a novice, was it hard to install?

I bought it from his fleabay store.

Its very easy to install, just remove the 2 screws from the top bracket, the bracket lifts off as does the wheel.

He also provides 2 new sintered bronze bushes and removal tool. I didnt need to replace mine as I did this not so long ago. If the idler wheel has no wobble, you bushes are more than likely fine.

Before installing the new wheel i cleaned up the old oil with a cotton tip and isopropyl acohol, then refreshed the bushes with fresh oil.

It's a 10 minute job.

These would be the type of LP's that I would love to listen to during a barbie at Gregs place. Stuff I have no idea about, but would like to hear.:thumb:

Thanks my friend. Could you direct me to his store?
Also what sort of oil did you use?

Here you go

Audiosilente Idler Wheel

Regarding oil for the idler bearings you can use sewing machine oil, motor oil, or what a Garrard specialist in the UK advised me to use who rebuilt\restored my deck. 3-in-1, he said spending on anything more extravagant is just a waste of money.

3 in 1 Oil Lubricant

Thanks just purchased! Perhaps a first step in looking at upgrades for my 401! Gee I miss Duc at these times. [emoji17]

Picked this up at a Garage sale today for $10.  SANYO 704

Seller said it ran a bit slow.

The three rubber suspension mounts for the motor had perished and this was causing the motor to sit lower and the idler wheel to run on the wrong part of the motor spindle, so then run at the wrong speed. Replaced the mounts with some new rubber grommets, lubricated some parts and cleaned lubricant off some parts and it now plays perfectly.

Runs on mains and batteries, auto start when you lift the arm ,plays 45's and 33's.

Thought it may disturb too many members if I put it in the  "Show us your Turntables" Thread.

Actually does not sound too bad thought!!

It was a sad day for me.  My analogue purchase was made at Bunnings.  I bought 3 big storage containers for my Reel to Reel tapes.  The old Akai picture in my avatar is just not getting used and the wife said the tapes looked too untidy, so I have packed them away.  The storage slots are now being filled with vinyl opera box sets, as they look nice and tidy like books on a shelf.

That’s so cool. I have a fisher price one but it’s from the states and runs on 110 v and different frequency so it plays slow even with an step down transformer, I’ll keep it for my little one

I like dabbling with old players like this too.  Not hifi, but very retro and full of memories.
