Hi Marc,

Not sure if this has been logged but after doing a search the window comes up with the search results, but if you try to sort that window it takes you back to the search form.

Otherwise I think overall it's a great improvement, thank you.

Checking. Thanks for reporting.

Thanks - also just realised it goes back to the search form if you try to go past the first page of search results.

Yep bug now logged.

Hi Marc,

sometime in the near future I will be listing an Osborn centre channel/subwoofer combination Greg especially made for me . I wouldn’t think there would be many of these around.

I wonder what category I should place it in.
No immediate hurry as there must be more pressing issues than mine as if you haven’t already got enough on your plate.

This probably best answers that.

Just had a quick look at the classifieds and it looks great!

I haven't used them for quite some time and now I see a new Purchased button. Never noticed this before. Thinking it might be a new way to contact buyer and purchase....

Well I had to click on it as it is there 🙂 and now I see what it does.

I think this is what it is

If you purchase the item or finalize the sale through messaging, you can then come back to the add and click on it if you would like to show that this has now been purchased by somebody?

So the buyer also has the option of marking this add sold?

And paying the selling fee ✌️

Logging a bug is always a good feeling isn't it.

Whacked this f***ing  ginormouse  roach downstairs in Mancave#2 the other night and the squelch whacking sound was all encompassing and no cables involved as it was obviously  'active'.

It was a shock to the system initially, but once adjusting, I am liking the new system / layout. Only question i had was, I know it says submitted / updated, is there anyway to be able to tell without going into the individual adverts, to see when the item was initially added / submitted (date and time).

Its been a long day so I'm not sure if this is just me... anyway I can't find where I can leave feedback. Maybe there could be a Leave Feedback button on the Trader Feedback screen.

I'm working on this already. We had to rewrite the Feedback system and then focused on importing all the old feedback. I only realised today that it's not simple to leave someone feedback (other than doing so from the ad you purchased). Will add this to the bug list.

Ah, great. Yes, I'm sure there's a bit of complexity to this but good to know it's in the pipeline.😁

I believe the formatting is still being worked on for mobile

I can search and filter on the mobile version. Can you see search and filter? or are you talking about a different array of filters or something entirely else?

Yeah, this would be good (and I'm also having problems with the arrows - they stop working). I'm sure all this is in the 'to do / to fix' list

Thanks for posting - I have a feeling I’m doing this wrong… so, I go to classifieds and click on amps to browse all amps/etc, this bring up everything but I can’t see any filters. Would it help if I did a screen recording? I used to like browsing classifieds according to region then category and don’t see how I can do this, thanks in advance if I’m missing something.

Just had a look.

Go to the classifieds but do not not click on any categories (like amps/etc).

There is a button near the top to "Search ads"

In the search you can select the category like amps/etc

Once you start the search and get the result page, then you could possibly bookmark it in your browser and can go there easy from then on?

First, thanks for all the hard work you have put into this Marc.

Not sure if this has been posted before (apologies if it has).

I don't see the "Pay it Forward | Giveaways" in the new classifieds.  Has it been retired, or accidental omission, or still to be implimented?

it is still there where it has always been at the bottom of the forum page
maybe moved to the new classifieds in the future.

We now a plan for a "Watch List" .... (Create Watch Lists - future)

The Follow function, just like threads, is already on every ad.

image.png

In your profile (dropdown under your username in menu bar), there is already "Manage Followed Content".

https://www.stereonet.com/forums/followed/?type=classifieds_item&change_section=1

So we will use this feature for Watch Lists. It's already working. In the next week, we will develop this feature so that it will also send notifications for Expiring, Mark as Sold, Withdrawn etc.

So this can be considered now as "in progress". It would pay to start hitting the "Follow" on ads that interest you. Also, if you post a reply to the ad, it will automatically put you on Follow for that ad.

Thanks - will give that a go!

Thought I'd add a couple of things as feedback. I've read the previous 10 pages of comments so I don't think any of the below were covered, but apologies if I missed something.

1) I found not being able to create a post topic kind of confusing. I had an old ad that I was trying to replicate into the new system, and kept looking to where I could paste the title of the old one. As it turned out when I submitted, using Brand of "Apple", Model Number "MNXG3X/A", and Type "iPad" the resultant ad's topic was "Apple MNXG3X/A iPad". It would be nice if there was a preview of what the ad might look like, or an option to keep the metadata accurate, but overwrite the topic to be more clear to potential buyers. For now, I changed the Model Number to "iPad Pro 11-inch (4th Generation) M2 256GB Silver" so the post would be more obvious. We'll see if it gets approved 🙂

2) There is an option to Insert image from URL. Given I'd already posted the images here on my previous ad, I thought I'd save time by referencing the URLs used from the old ads, which did insert them into the description. However, when I tried to submit the ad, it complained that the Images part of the form was required. I ended up deleting one of the inserted images from URL and uploading it with the Choose Files button to work around it.

3) I love RSS feeds. I had some setup that I really liked with the old system. I had ones setup for the old Vinyl/CD section, and another for the Other items, as well as some others. With the new system I haven't been able to work out how to select a feed that isn't for all items. I can see the root feed is https://www.stereonet.com/forums/rss/5-classifieds.xml, and when I go to media section at  https://www.stereonet.com/forums/classifieds/category/8-media/ and click on the RSS icon at the bottom it creates a slightly different URL https://www.stereonet.com/forums/rss/5-classifieds.xml/?member_id=nnnnnn&key=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (member id and key removed), but when I look at that feed in my RSS reader, it's showing all ads. Is this expected at the moment? I'm assuming it's expected, as it looks like the RSS feed is the same in all the subsections.

Thanks for all the hard work that would have gone into creating the new system. Like switching from any system to another, I'll give myself time to become familiar with it before deciding which I like better, but I don't dislike the new one so far.

Yes, this is something I had experienced as well.  Having a preview and an opportunity to edit would be good.  In my case the items I advertised were generic/no-brand, but I had to put something in for a brand ("NoBrand" or something like that), which didn't look good in the ad heading.  Maybe making the brand name (and type from those submitted) optional in the non-audio related classifieds would be a workaround.  And perhaps have the type appear in square brackets could also help legibility of the headings.

I'm sure that lots of teething problems like this will be ironed out in time.

That was exactly what you should do.

This is what we have already done in the Media subcategories. It works well like that.
Think we will do the same for the other non-hifi cats too. Will look more into this tomorrow.

Very little time has been spent on RSS feeds as yet, which has been discussed in this thread already (along with some workarounds).
It will be looked at later.

Definitely need to upload new images. It was an absolute necessity in the new system as the amount of time we mods spent knocking back ads and chasing for images was out of control. The new system prevents this and solves it for us. This was by design and is working well.

Just had my first serious browse. Bloody amazing, I reckon.

Congrats to all who contributed 👏

Another idea.  On the form to create the ad, it could be helpful to have an automatic notification beside the text box to input the selling price that displays the seller's fee.

It would give the seller the opportunity to revise their selling price based on the fee if desired, and also reinforce that it's not a free listing (except in the pay it forward section).
