As requested by @sakabatou below, we appreciate not everyone is interested in every topic. So have implemented the ability to ignore specific topics.

 

 

You can now ignore a topic:

 

 

You will still be able to browse to and click into an Ignored Topic, however once ignored new posts and content from the topic will not display in your Activity Feeds or Streams.

 

You can also manage your Ignored Topics from within your Account Settings.

For example, plenty of members are not interested in home theatre so could that be an opt-out feature?

Only on a per-topic basis this particular feature.

What you suggest is absolutely possible though with custom activity streams. You can include or exclude certain sub-forums, and then once right, you can save that as your default activity stream.

 

I'll try and create a How To thread to sticky in the Support Forum when I get a chance.

You're right. While this is definitely a step forward, it doesn't ignore reactions in the activity feed. I'll see if that's an easy fix.

By way of footnote,  the promise of the Ignore functionality that "this topic will no longer appear on streams..." doesn't extend to Pinned classifieds.

 

The listing continues to be visible.

It doesn't make threads invisible - it was never designed for such functionality.

There's a grand total of FIVE featured ads. Hardly an issue.

I have to admit, I much prefer the ignore certain people function. 💯
