Interesting that KEF have made much more noise about the KC62 than the bigger KF92 (came out mid 2020). For comparison (from Kef website)

KC62
246 x 256 x 248 mm (63% smaller in volume than KF92)

Driver Unit: 2 x 6.5”

Frequency Response: 11Hz – 200Hz
Max SPL: 105 dB

Optimal Room Size: 5 – 50m2

KF92
353 x 330 x 361 mm

Driver Unit: 2 x 9”

Frequency Response: 11Hz - 200Hz

Max SPL: 110 dB

Optimal Room Size: 10 – 100m2

The KC62 is certainly impressive, delivering incredible performance for such a small box!

The KF92 has opposing woofers, which is nothing new. The KC62 has differently sized voice coils in only one magnet, which is  the new invention.

Anyone running the LS50 wireless 2 and the Unicore sub? Or another sub like the SVS micro 3000?
The full set interests me and would love to hear some opinions from owners. 🙏

Thanks @Marc I’ll have a read. Been watching and reading a lot on them. I only heard the smaller KEFs at the show last time. So the whole set is new to me also.

Btw if you haven’t found much more, I’m using a KC62 with the original LS50W. Love the combo (more than I liked the Buchardt A500, also with none of the very annoying issues).

Very curious about the LS50W II now, has anyone done the upgrade from the original and can comment whether it’s worth it? Smoother highs would be a winner, but it’s not small money to upgrade.

Any comparisons between the R300s and LS50 Meta?

I'm currently using the R300s in a nearfield 2.1 setup, and while I like it well enough, they're quite imposing and a bit overkill for a room of about 4m x 4m. I could utilise them elsewhere, but am curious whether the LS50M would be a decent upgrade in the space, as I've heard they're great for nearfield.

Will try to get out and give em a listen somewhere, but opinions appreciated!

…not a chance Brad.  The 3 way speakers’ time-alignment and below 30hz bass response is made possible by way of the active x/o & dsp according to the spiel from Johnny Darko.

It may be possible for a passive version but why? With 3 DACs and amps plus DSP in each speaker, it is a complete and elegant package which sounds superb, according to What HiFi

https://www.whathifi.com/reviews/kef-ls60-wireless

As a big fan of active speakers, I am hoping that this will convert a lot of people like Brad.

I am sure @Marc will be working on getting a world first showing at Hifi show? 🤞

It's amusing how the photos for wireless active speakers always show them sans power cables..

Interesting speakers, kind of a mini-blade kind of.

I can confirm they will be at the show yes. We just weren't able to promote that until yesterday :)

Snoop, I am old-school, a techno-dunce, and in my current situation the simplest, easiest-to-use system is best.   I'd consider the passive version if there was one at half-the-price.

What could be more simple than an all-in-one ?  No need to worry about matching DAC to amp to speaker.  As you may know, I am a big fan of simplified systems and the LS60 ticks all the boxes. 👍👍👍

That sounds a LOT like the LS60 Wireless to me! :)

Love the look, the functionality and (probably ) the sound, but at the price, they are unobtanium to me.

Sigh.

Are woofers on both sides or on left side only? I could not figure out somehow by watching sneak preview photo or video.

Really pleasing to see a lot of trickle-down engineering from the Blade series...

Form factor alone makes me think it would pass the wife test relatively easily.

Both sides; they are a linked / self cancelling design. Same tech as the KC62

If you're into vinyl, that pure analog sound will have to be converted to 1's and 0's so this speaker can process it with it's DSP.

That might give some something to worry about. O.o
