Yes this is really frustrating! I have given up looking for any older CDs from the shops. I now source them from

ebay. You can get quite good variety from ebay. I got the first Kit Chan album, 張惠妹 姊妹 CD (original press),

许美静 都是夜归人 taiwan press, etc. All these you cannot find in local shops since they stock very limited range.

Note that the disadvantages of buying on ebay is that you cannot see the condition of the discs, or try them. Most of

them send via the post and you need to pay in advance. Also, most of these discs are not brand new!! But better than nothing!

Wow...got this CD in Lijiang recently and it reminds me of lovely Yunan's tribal people, its vast open plains, hills and mountains...brings me back to the rustic charm of Lijiang's World Heritage Old Town while sitting here in Hougang!

 

Quite a shock to hear her voice after looking at this very feminine beauty. Thought they put the wrong CD inside the cover! She really does sound like a man, but after the initial weird feeling, her voice and songs grow on you. Can imagine her powerful voice suited to singing into open country and the hills echoing back her cry!  Definitely one for the World Music collection. Will look for more of her work  :D

 

Been roaming around the Shenzhen Hi Fi shops and showrooms.  In every single shops' demo CD rack, you will be able to find this CD.

 

Tested this CD in on of the shops on track #1, a very "uplifting song", you know why this CD belongs to the demo rack already.  Her pretty face give you an impression of how she sound like but when you hear the CD, you may be disappointed because she sounded like a male voice, very low tone but very powerful.  Your system must be able to handle the dynamics for this CD to sound good.  I just listen to tracks 10 to track 13, loving it.  Please note, I personally think not everyone would like this CD but I rcommend this:-
