Bought this out of curiousity.

Yes, good mix of artists ....wah, Jacky Chung ...but it doesn't sound right.

Into my 3rd, 4th track on disc 1, this Lam song.......I go and take out my Lam latest release HQCD which features the same song.....much much better sounding.

I cannot recommend this CD.

Hi bros

I have a couple of Faye Wong greatest hits albums but their recordings are really sub optimum. Hence I bought the LPCD45 versions of the greatest hits at about 40 bucks each. Verdict is that the recording is so flat n liveless. I know Faye has no showmanship but the music in this cd Is so 2D sounding n no dynamics.

Any others owners felt the same way as me?

Cheers

Hmm i had a XRCD and normal press version of her CD. But have never felt the recording is flat and liveless. Iit is quite lively and airy to me on certain track.

She has at least 2 LPCD45 that I know of, which one are you referring to?

The song that I was chasing in particular is 約定 and I cannot find in any SACDs of hers.

cheers

I have not been able to find any nice sounding Faye Wong recordings.....all the selected songs on SACD, XRCD and LP45 are songs I don't like......I particularly dislike "SKY" which is the most popular Faye Wong album to be released on premium CD...yike!!

Which one, the slow or the up beat version!!  I like the latter for its good bass response and catchy beat!....

In that case, must be the slow and original version!! ....lol

On another note, I went home and listen to the Cherry Ma Cd she signed on....

It is actually not a bad CD at all.  The afternoon's live perfomrance enhanced the listening experience somewhat.....after listening to a mono Mackie system, anything would be sounding better when you get home, I suppose...   :)

LOL! +1

I find her voice has more character and reportoire than the other singer, though her songs were more old skool.

Just bought this in Blu-ray format. The concert is in Blu (PCM 5.1 and DTS-HD MA5.1)  and comes with the CD. Also got the Sting live in Berlin Blu.
