Those cd quality are pretty bad. Don't bother. Stick to roxy music and new dic village. I recently like to buy from hificd.com

Just to share - I found a CD shop near the Outram MRT (the shopping centre nearby). The uncle there is selling "One Billion Applause" at S$13 each. (I bought part 4 and 5). The selection is much lesser.

 

Then I went Adelphi, the CD shop near Roxy (same level, but not sure the shop's name). They are selling "One Billion Applause" at S$14.50 each!!!  The CD is the same, all from Mobile Fidelity.

 

 

The name of the shop at Outram? They have all the volumes?

Was quite surprised to see such a stall in the heartlands fringes, told him to do a website up so that people can just browse and buy online instead of coming down all the way.

I listen to contemporary pop leh hehehe.

 

I play this kind of music at home, my gf complain so whiny...

But it is decent, just that his setup plus the recording not matched properly..

 

His speaker and amp is bright + recording is bright...

I suggested to him using tube amp as subtle hint..

 

You can ask him to play for you, he's quite obliging so i think no issue..

NDV at Adelphi. Been experimenting a bit with CD formats. So far I really love the HQCD of which 陈洁丽 and 刘德丽 are on. They sound amazing. Soundstage, clarity are really great. SACD don't lose out too. Not too impress with XRCD and LPCD who mostly does older song albums. Maybe a lot still depends on the source. If the songs are recorded way back in the 80s to early 90s then there's a limit to what technology can do. But Beyond on SACD do sound great. I have goosebumps listening to 情人, I could hear musical notes I have never heard before and I lost count of the number of times I play this song over the years.

 

I am gonna make a trip this year to HK. Only discover SACD and other HD formats only less than a month and now trying to make up for lost time Haha

These both 丽 are very famous for those hypnotic dreamy tunes. I have a big fan of both too for a while and have been hoping to see Lily Chen in concert.

 

Liu Deli was recently here in the 2010 Singapore Hifi show. As for their CDs only buy the HQCD ones. The recording is damn good and you feel as though they are singing infront of you.
