I would go for #2, as I like the selections on that album as compared to the rest but for SQ, I will choose the latest (#5) as it really brings out every details in that recording.

Roger that,

I will try to unwrap #5 tonight if time permits.....

OK, I have tried CD #5 and the songs and SQ are good.

But for CD #4, I take interest in track 3.

This song was last featured in Teresa Teng's last CD (around the time she departed) as the last track (track 12, I think) where the song is nice but the recording is very bad, vocal undefined....in particular, the chinese flute solo...totally unlistenable...sharp, utterly bright.

Track 3 in CD #4 restores the SQ of that track and make it listenable again.......

if u only have enough $ to get one, which one would u buy? please think carefully because i will base on ur reply to buy.. ;D

I will be in HK tomorrow. Some of the CDs I intend to buy include Teresa Teng 15th Anniversary XRCD2. Can anyone comment this XRCD on the SQ if u own one?

I also want to buy one compilation from Jacky Cheung. Which one has excellent audiophile quality? From this thread, look like the LPCD45 version  is good.

For Teresa Teng 15th Anniversary XRCD2, the remastering makes the songs having better separations and tighter bass, compared to Teresa Teng's LPCD45 which is more natural most may feel. I have them both.

I always think XRCD2 (e.g. Cai Qin's Ming Ge) is overly done. Bass very impactful, highs very clear. I do like to some extend. But I think LPCD45 will be a more moderated versions.

Take care when buying LPCD45 recently. I know there are bad batches recently. Pops and crackles.

I bought almost 40 CDs in HK yesterday. Most CDs I bought are recommended by brothers here.

Title I bought include Teresa Teng 15th Anni xrcd2, Chris and Friends SHMCD XRCD24. I going to take a while to listen to my new collections.

Bought this at rosy music "breath me" by Sammy

Then forget about her....get this one instead.....

Tong Li - "Watching at Spring Wind"

Fantastic SQ, clean and very good soundstage....good song tracks as well.  Maybe it's the K2 Mastering HQCD thingy...can rival my 1:1 CDR recording.

Hi... Anyone knows where to buy 姜鄠 (xin yao singer) CDs???

Just came back from Chinatown - went to 2 stores just below the hawker centre... Cannot find Jiang Hu CDs... But the Xin Yao Vol 1 & 2 is available.

Ok, next will be Bras Basah... If that one also don't have, I guess I can forget it. End up paying 56.90 for the Vol 2 and just have that 3 songs... Sigh.

Found this in CD Rama yesterday ... at an unbelievable price ...  ;D

Got it from NDV.

The shopping centre near the immigration check point is Lo Hu and this is a pale in comparison with those who are only 3 or 4 subway stops away.

The cost for normal Audio CD is RMB15, K2HD Mastering is RMB25 and DSD retails at RMB35.  ;)

In my opinion, the best area for everything electronic (computers, ipod, cameras, everything you name it) is the HuaQiangBeiLu where you can spend the whole day exploring every shopping complex that are there. This area is more "upmarket" than Dongmen.

After the immigration, just  proceed on the left towards the subway .. on the right side is Lo Hu Shopping Comples. Travel to the 4th subway station called KeXueGuanand take exit B and walk away fromthe subway station with the main road on your left.

Another favourite place is the SEG Electronics Complex (10th floor I think) where you can get everything from from audio and videophile assessories, photography, components, computers, etc.

Take subway to HuaQiuLang and exit . Look across the screet and you will see SEG!

Happy Shopping in Shenzhen

Hi Bro, I had also been a Chinese CD enthu due to the good recording and had frequent some of the shops u mentioned. Probably u would like to try Music Room at Bras Basah Complex Grd Floor. This shop carries a wide variety of Chinese CD and at very reasonable price too. U can check it out when u hv time. Cheers!
