Attended the Coopers Vintage release a couple of weeks ago. Always a great afternoon. This years vintage is very drinkable right away. Not as bitter as some of the last few. Get on it!

Don't mind the bitterness of an IPA.

I prefer bitter to fruity but in the case of the Vintage Ales they have been brewing them more bitter over the last few years (not including this one or so much last year). They earlier Vintage ales tended to be quite drinkable new but after 6 or 7 years got a little too liqueury. Almost lost the taste of beer. Then they started to make them quite bitter which seemed to age a lot better. Interesting to see how these go.

MJ's "The Beer Hunter" documentary series (its on Youtube now) taught young me that there was a world beyond Swan Lager and Emu Bitter, in a Perth where Guinness was a rare exotic alternative.

Brewed to celebrate Status Quo’s 3-peat in the GABS Hottest 100 this is a fitting tribute to an already excellent beer.

Since my trip to England last year, I've been sampling a few of the Pommy ales. And they fit nicely in my Abbey one pint pewter, I picked up in an Charity Shop (Op shop) in Sittingbourne, Kent. Fore the princely sum of £10.00

Ye olde mug reminded me to post this video.  Has inspired me to make my first batch of homebrew for the year. BTW it wont be either of the first two beers.......

Currently travelling around S.A.

Called into Ministry of Beer in Lyndoch earlier today.

Their NEIPA, (New England India Pale Ale), is sensational! 🙂

A pint of King River Kolsch at the nattily renovated Victoria Hotel Rutherglen. The KR brewer considers the Kolsch his signature and loves classic and Belgian styles. Well worth seeking out if you find yourself in NE Vic.

Still on my Pommy Ale bent.. Theakston Old Peculier, and a pint of The bishop's Stinky.

And yes, it is a bit colder than it should be, but it's either that or room temp. The pewter takes the edge off the cold though.

Bridge Road turn 20 years old this year. B2 Bombers are their iconic birthday beers, Black Belgian Double IPAs. Right up my alley.
