Now this is a proper system worth travelling through the pandemic to have a listen to. Love it!

Today has been surreal.. I'm jittery still. It was just an incredible christening with Jon. We listened all day to these beautiful speakers that he built. We discussed what we were hearing and it wa

That's glorious! 😍

Utterly drool-worthy toys assembled by a bon vivant and music lover it seems. I am having an out of body experience just reading about this stuff... good luck on the journey (you might have secured any number of Holy Grail items already!).

Beautiful looking speakers. What are you finding as you are upgrading them? What are the ones on the outside left/right? Interested to hear your thoughts as there have been a few speaker rolls. Are you looking for something specific in the sound?

Thank you. The Vertical 9844's are what I wanted in a horn separates setup and are not replacing the 604's which are what I wanted in a Duplex style horn. For me both represent the best of the two different styles and they are keepers. The speakers on the far left/right are Legacy Whisper models (open baffles). I am also looking at a monitor and or single driver style speaker which my friend Jon is helping me sort out. Being able to audition many of his beautiful builds, have him custom tailor an existing design, or completely build something new for me from scratch is a true blessing I really appreciate. . I added these yesterday also from another friends stash.

It’s been a while. I have settled in to this setup for a while now and believe it or not thinned out a lot of gear.
The Legacy Whispers will be moved out eventually to another room. The Jon Anderson monitors have taken center stage and I am waiting for the bottom bins as the finishing touches to the most amazing set of monitors I have heard. The Jon Anderson built PAS/Selah/Altecs in the rear are the go to speakers for my favorite tube amps.
The NAD Master Series class D amp is the finest I have owned to date and takes this class of amplifiers to the highest level I have experienced to date at any price.
The newest addition to the system is the HiFi Rose RS150b DAC/Streamer is an amazing piece of gear that I am enjoying very much. I am an analog person at heart but this piece has had me listening to more music than ever!

New addition. After many years yesterday I found a nice (circa 1968 tags and research but not positive yet) Percival Lafer Brazilian Rosewood/Suede Lounge Chair and Ottoman. It is very very comfortable.

Very nice and neat and the chairs really do fit in well.

I too have tubes, horns, tape & analogue bliss.

Do  you actually use the 16 track RtR?

How could I have missed this thread?!

I like the chair, but it's not made of Brazilian Rosewood, as that wood is much much darker like the one in the link below.

I just hope you didn't pay the same price a Brazillian Rosewood version costs, as that wood has been on the CITES appendix 1 list since the early 70's, and is the reason it gets the prices it does.

Hello,

It has been verified to be Brazillian Rosewood by a local woodshop/furniture builder. It is much darker in person and I raised the exposure and shadow levels to get it to show better in the photos as the wood and room is so dark. I also would never pay the price listed in the example and was very very lucky to score the chair/ottoman combo after years of searching for 350USD. :)

Anticipating these coming together for some time now. I'll say that it was worth the time and I don't want to even break things down again to veneer the bins. Just wow.

The monitors are CSS Criton 1TD-X models. I had them in the office for a year built and untested sitting on the floor. I put them in the system this year finally and they sounded amazing. Enough so to immediately ask my speaker builder and friend Jon Anderson if he could build me the bins to go along with his gorgeous built monitors. Yesterday Jon said take the bins home for final room testing! I added the anticipated 3-Way Bass Modules from CSS and wow. They have the tunable passive radiators also and that is nice. I believe I finally have found my "Non Horn" speaker.

Yes I do in fact. I have tapes from many years of studio recording.

That was a lucky find. I think I paid around 60USD.

BIG day today. Huge for me! Jon Anderson built Altec Stonhenges will be in the main room.  I feel like I did in around 1976 when I got to put my dad's system gear in my room. One last photo from his room of the final versions. They are stunning in person. Just drop dead stunning!
