Yes very kind offer indeed @vintagejapan

The problem is I would not know where to start.

If no experience at all I would not tinker with it. It is true everything is replaceable on the B-2 but can be costly getting new V-fets. You will need to replace all 4 of them on each channel even if only 1 has gone bad.

Everything else is relatively easy to restore. If you are confident enough you can take out the Vfet and check them.

Burning smell is a worry. If cannot find anyone to sort it out where you are let me know.

Thanks for the sage advice. I'm going to get someone local to have a look at it, hopefully it is not too serious (fingers crossed). I'm enjoying the preamp though in the meantime.

My love of the 70's. Charlotte Rampling.

Wow, very nice indeed.

She is very tall but I reckon it would be worth the climb:lol:

Speaking of Vintage gear, has anyone out there got an old pair of Sennheiser HD540 or HD250 Linear headphones of any vintage that might be a bit knackered and you can sell me cheaply for parts? I have some HD250 Linear capsules coming that need a headband only, though HD540s are just as suitable, as I could do with spares for my favourite cans, the HD540 Reference 1s regardless. Even an old unused set of either that I can refurbish if required. Be great if someone can help me out :)

Cheers!

Thanks @Ian McP I wasn't aware of those, will keep an eye out for them.

Gary Cawsey had a T2 for sale a while back, he wanted premium $ for it though, but worth a try

April 6, 2018 is my style...

Slightly off-topic, but I was thinking to myself (and thought I should share) how funny that we are in an age of unlimited internet pornography, and yet this photo with a hint of 'side boob' is far far more alluring to my eye.

Anyway, sorry for the off-topic, back to the music :)
