Pinch & Sherwood: Late night Endless

Haven't stopped listening to Adrian Sherwood since I saw him last week! What a legend, mixing old school dub and dub-step seamlessly, all live not a computer in sight. awesome gig.

This is Sherwood with legendary Bristol dub step producer Pinch. more your ambient Burial style than the the in your face Skrillex vibe.

also saw Adrian Sherwood at Womadelaide, just couldn't get into him..... and I was a fan of On U Sound way back when! Stuff like African Head Charge, jeez, that was 35+ years ago, I think my tastes have changed. Much prefer the heavy dub/electro from Rhythm & Sound these days https://hardwax.com/basic-channel/

Yuen Chee Wai & Lasse Marhaug - In Praise of Shadows

Currently streaming from Bandcamp, c/- Ujikaji Records, and I now covet the vinyl. I could have posted this in ambient or avant garde or... is there a noise thread? LOL

A Singaporean/Norwegian experiment. Two chronologically separate electronic jams, mixed/overlaid together as one. Works really well.

Martin Gore - M G

Anyone expecting D.M. this isn't it. Devoid of vocals, this album would sit somewhere between electronica and ambient. I found it a bit harsh (for want of a better word), to be regarded as ambient. Immersing and enjoyable all the same.

DaDa'ist electronic. I remember when Sensoria was getting a lot of air play on Rage in the 80's.

Have you heard any of the Recoil albums ?

Above clip is Atom Heart aka Uwe Schmidt aka Senor Coconut (yes, really!) with Burnt Friedman

Here's Burnt again in a different guise, he played this track Uzu in 4 channel surround at the Toff in Town Melbourne last year.

Eastern rhythms as intelligent electronic dance music.

https://burntfriedman.bandcamp.com/album/bokoboko

< The uneven types of rhythm, which provide the specific oscillation on which all the tracks are based, in principle obey all the components: melodies, noises, monophone sequences and dub echoes inserted into pre-sketched, programmed basic tracks. The tracks of the current production, like those in Secret Rhythms, Friedman’s live-and-studio project with Jaki Liebezeit, must be viewed as intermediate phases in an on-going process. They are not finalized, completed pieces that permit no further alteration, nor do they correspond to the idea of an original with unmistakable identity. On the contrary: permutability is their salient feature, and they are built according to a plan that follows natural laws.

released February 7, 2012

Burnt Friedman – pans, drums, organ, Korg Ms20,
sampler, guitars, rubberbox (track 7), monochord
Hayden Chisholm – reeds, tracks 3/4/6/7/8/10
Daniel Schröter – bass guitar, tracks 5/6/7/10
Joseph Suchy – electric guitar, tracks 4/5/9
Takeshi Nishimoto – sarod, tracks 4/8
David Franzke – field recordings, tracks 1/3/6/7/8/9/10 >
