Luckily I did not fry any of the vfet devices. I'm still using a tube pre (not the same one of said incident) but do use the c-coupled input on the Sony. Other bipolar & mosfet amps I'll go direct on any of those. The Yamaha B2 I run on DC though.. - Haven't had the B2 in the rack for a while..Might get it out.. As luck would have it my brother was heading down for my dads 70th so it was taken as hand luggage. I'm sure it sounds better with giant VU meters!!Either that or "burn in" is a real thing. I have an idea in mind for a purpose built stand incorporating a cooling fan beneath the amp to keep air flowing over the power supply boards.
