Absolutely beautiful!  :thumb:

Please tell us - when you've had enough time with each - which arm/cart combo sounds better.  :)

Well I don't normally show and tell, but I've finally achieved my medium term goal..
The SME has two arms, one for mono and one for stereo
The Garrard 401 has a nice new plinth by Duc and a great 12" Ortofon arm with a SPU cart for my collection of classical and some other older pressings.

Is your second arm attached using the Timestep attachment? Easy to set up?

Yes to both.. Took about 1/2 an hour to do it, including mounting the arm.. Timestep have made it easy to do (even for me) including easy to follow instructions and tools.. little bit more to mount the cart and align it..

Me too.
Kensell21  love how the 401 is sunk into the plinth - did you do that (was that cheeky's 401) ?

The Garrard originally came from him, but since then has gone to Lovetube a couple of times for a service and recently for the new plinth when I purchased a different arm..

I bought my Rega Planar 3 mid to late 80s and it has been a fantastic and dependable perfrormer right from day one. Back then they were 1100 or so dollars. Not cheap when you consider your wage back then but the best thing I could have done. I had a Leak and a JH formula 4 before this.

I had been eyeing off the Tehnics 1200xx which was a lot dear than the Rega rp3 I bought. Now with the RB330 arm I'm vey happy. Using the same cart - Ortofon Rondo Blue - the sound is as described in reviews. It is more clinical, leaner, instruments better etched. The second I played the first LP you could hear the diference. I paid less for this TT then my original Rega.

Thanks Chill.  It is amazing that two tables 35 years old sound so great but no more tables for me.

seriously thou, I have 6 bloody turntables and only physically enough room for 4 of them.  Pioneer PLX-1000 I am going to set up in daughters room.

but, Pioneer Exclusive P10 will probably need to be sold and go to good home that can enjoy this wonderful table.

cheers
