Definitely with that amp selection I would be wanting more speakers, more speakers required! 🙂

Not mine but a clear case of too much gear is not enough.

It depends on the individual and life circumstance. In this case, it looks like it is cluttering a common living area and maybe upsetting a spouse and other household members.

In another circumstance, person's collection is ten times as large, has a dedicated listening room and storage area out of sight of common use areas, and is a UHNWI. In that case, all cheers to you! One life, make it great.

So not enough gear?

In this case, without knowing all the circumstances, seems too much. Not for me to judge, each to their own. In any case, there's some nice sounding gear there!

Some fluffing around the edges really. Removed the feet from my CD player and Pre amp. This should really make no difference I think but I had the bits and its a cool look.

Placed the IKEA board on these for the Dac and M Scaler. Really should make less difference.

I sat back with a wine and played a couple of well know CDs, rather quietly as Jnr was in bed for his early work start. I wasn't expecting anything and as such wasn't performing any critical listening test, and started to scroll through my regular web sites and forums. My attention was drawn to the music as I swear I heard some new details and gentle timbral cues.

As my tone arm is away getting some new internals Ive been listening to digital exclusively for the past week. The Qutest, M Scaler combo is really delivering so maybe Ive just been noticing what this combo is all about.

As I said this kind of isolation to solid state components really shouldn't do very much if anything. I guess...

Has anyone else done this or should I seek help.

Inspired by these things I found. Audio Bastion Cable Supports

I bought one for my pre amp and CD player but stopped there.

The plugs for the ISO cables are bulky and do seem to sag so it seemed like a good idea...

I think what you have is brilliant , move the ones around that you bought and see if it's worth while, then decide.

I've done the same for many of IEC electronical connections on the back of my amps, preamps, DACs etc. The bulky heavy power cords I own sound great in my system, but they heavily bow the connection, and may affect pin contact. I use small wooden pieces similar to your photos.

Nothing wrong with a bit of cable management :D

I think you'd benefit from some sort of isolation under the wooden blocks.

Try spikes, or Isoacoustic footers for example.

They would prevent unwanted vibrations from the floor getting to the power plugs.

Joking.

I chose the pine for its excellent vibration absorbing qualities and its rejection of eddy currents. And they are directional.

Ah I didn't even think of eddy currents. Well done.

Very good points.....but I think maple might even be better.😅

Maple is more dense than pine, I would be worried about vibration transfer being greater than pine

I have a special aerospace engineered acoustically shaped plastic container with pink feet absorbers, suspended 50% off the rack for true linear performance, the colour of the feet gave more detail & finesse, it was revolutionary my cable doesn't move now, thanks to my daughters old lunch box lollie container.

I lay awake at nights thinking about eddy currents.

I'm happy enough with the home brand ones from down the baking aisle at my local Woollies.
