Great record

I hate saying this

An old man criticising contemporary music

But Jesus they  don’t make music like that now

I had a ticket to see Joe Cocker in the early 70’s from memory but he so misbehaved down south the Liberal Party booted him out of the country

Some things of course never change🎩🍺

That was the last thing the Liberal Party did before they were kicked out. He played Festival Hall in Melbourne then the Commonwealth police escorted him to the airport.

That one's not from my collection. I've got something called 'Beat Orgy' somewhere.

I remember the front page photos

Very unflattering 😄

Unless there are unusually focused acquisition criteria.

Joe had his shirt off and a copper had his arm twisted around his back. Joe sang a song about the guy who was deporting him in the show. They played it on 3XY.

Joe: I'll take youse all on!!!

The Minister for Immigration (Dr Forbes) yesterday signed deportation papers giving the seven 48 hours to leave Australia.

At least 40,000 pop fans have already paid for tickets to Cocker’s remaining six concerts.

If the seven failed to leave the country on time they would be arrested and deported as soon as practicable.

Dr Forbes said: “I have done this because this Government takes a very serious view of such offences — especially when committed by people who are in a position to have profound influence on many young Australians.”

"Damned Hippies!".

Jon Sorell used to do a news comment on the Channel 10 news and he stirred up all this anger about Cocker (even though Joe had been busted in Adelaide no body really cared until it hit the evening news). The government actually acted to suck up to the media rather than any outrage perceived by the public. A couple of months later when the Stones toured Sorell called them wimps and sell-outs and wanted to know where the Stones of the 1960s disappeared to.

Was supposed to be the US one but the seller could not read the matrix so it seems 🤪      *specsavers coupon heading his way*   👓🙃

So this is the Aussie Pressing but going on Discogs the reviews are excellent and I have no complaints so far anyway as it is playing Minty - so far so good 🎶

Back in the day when Australia was finally turning away from being an embarrassing conservative backwater.

Pity some are now trying to take us back there.🙄
