Odd somebody hasnt already posted?

Ummed and ahhed about this one, especially at $143 for a good seat.

But decided to go, especially basedon some of the reviews being posted up

35 song concert , 3 + plus hours gigs

I saw them in 92 for the wish tour , oddly enough cost $43 , have the ticket in cd case for disintegrate album.

And today i played that album and faith which it was one of my fav cure albums, forgotten how good they sound.

So looking forward to the concert now :-)

Interesting thoughts and some concerts videos here

I'm surprised no one has talked about the upcoming tour!

I am still deliberating as to if I want to go. I really want to, but I still have to source a ticket and then acomm. etc!

cafe67, $143 for a good seat....what's there to um and ahh about? For almost every concert $150 a seat is the norm!

I wouldn't blink at the price! I look at it this way, it may be the only time to see such a great band live, you can't put a $ figure on an experience like that IMHO !

Wow! when I saw them years ago down the gold coast the cover charge was I think 20 bucks. Maybe early to mid 80's?

I was standing in front of the stage about 5 feet in front of Robert Smith.

Not sure if he liked me standing 5 feet in front of him, but there was only 4 of us there at the time when the set started.

Edit: Maybe a few more up at the bar or near it.

Note: never get too wasted too early.

1984 Bombay Rock on the gold Coast, I spilt a full Bourbon and Coke over the front of a very pretty girls white dress, later...last thing I recall of the night.

Saw them in 1980 at the Kewdale (or was it Welshpool?) Hotel in Perth. There were about 20 people in the audience, the tiny stage just fitted Smith, Tolhurst and Gallup and their kit, and was no more that 8 inches higher than the floor where we punters stood. There were no barriers, you could literally lean over and touch them if you felt inclined.

It was around the time of "A Forest" - it was brilliant.

Got hold of some good tickets today off Ebay. Cost me $225 each for reasonably good seats near front and side in first elevation up.

I thought that was well worth it all things considered.

I always say, the cost is the value something is to you and how much you get out of it.

Saw them a long long time ago at The Seaview, upper esplanade, had never heard of them, but their double bass riffs won me over.

The legend is that Robert Smith was so terrified of flying they boated it to Oz, wonder if it's true.

We saw them in 2007 at Rod Laver Arena.

No support band, 3+ hours of the The Cure.  They're certainly committed to giving great value.

Was a fantastic concert.

As far as I remember, it wasn't heavily promoted - mainly just on the public radio stations, but still sold out.

Up here for Splendour they is. Headlining-it actually.

Was down at Byron Bay today looking for tubby middle aged goths as they're staying here somewhere.

No luck of course but I think I saw Tex Perkins and certainly saw  some celeb who I didn't know but they had a camera crew in tow.

Things you see.

Saw them last night. 3 hours, great sound and light show. So many brilliant songs as well as a few I didn't know. Fantastic show!

Only took one solitary pic!

And a short vid of 'Lovesong', just to show my bandmates I take my homework seriously (as we cover this song) !

I will attempt to put up the pic, although I've got to work out how!

Mate who was close to the mixing desk scored the song list for the night:

The Cure really do an excellent concert, I won't be there this time around, instead will play Mixed Up on repeat.

About time a band played a decent length concert (3 hours)!

The norm seems to be 1 1/2 hours, which seems to be all over in no time!

Welcome to the cheap seats! Actually I love sitting side stage like this, getting to see machine at work. Watching the kick drum pedal and realising how it drives the whole thing  :thumb:

Perth Arena Sunday July 31st.
