  1. Hi everyone thanks for all the suggestions. I’ve picked up a pair of Focal Aria 948 for a good price and will spend some remaining budget on room acoustics.
  2. Thanks for your very considerate response, it's very good food for thought. I certainly appreciate that the SEAS Excel and Scanspeak Illuminator drivers are very high quality, the cabinet is heavy and intert and the crossovers are very heavy. I also appreciate that direct-to-public models can create a significant value proposition as there's no dealer network, advertising and so forth. And I also like no international shipping charges and supporting Aussies. But I have concerns around the lack of measurements which provide objective evidence around the quality of design. In fact, what worries me more is that when I spoke to Greg he dismissed measurements saying the best measuring speakers sound the worst. Hmm ok. Spinorama charts are widely recognised as the best way to scientifically analyse the outputs of a speaker - ie how it responds to on-axis and off-axis horizontal and vertical listening, and how the speakers handle room reflections. I asked the guys at Audio Science Review their thoughts on Osborn and whilst none had heard them (being mostly Americans) their thoughts are here: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/osborn-loudspeakers.23377/ So for the price of an Epitome Tower Reference, or a Eclipse Tower Reference Elite, I can get a Revel F226Be or F228Be which, whilst may not be as heavy as the Osborns, and have all that nasty dealer markups and shipping etc, were built upon Harmon's millions invested in sound research and engineering. I appreciate Greg kindly offers a 30 day trial but I'm not comfortable with the potential guilt and effort in returning them. Anyway, it's all very fascinating and I'll have to think about things more. I suspect I'll have to visit Melbourne and visit Greg in person.
  3. I have the MiniDSP SHD and highly recommend it. Love using Volumio as my Spotify Connect streamer and Dirac 3.0 is amazing!
  4. @cafe67 the $11k is all-in, assuming my delivery estimates are accurate.
  5. Hi all, I've been offered a very good price for a pair of Revel F228Be's (about $11k) from overseas, was about to pull the trigger and buy but and getting last minute hesitations. My budget was only really to $9k but you only live once eh? Anyway, maybe I'm a bit of a tightwad, or maybe it's natural to have hesitations when spending this kinda money, but I can't help but think with the freight charges, duties, dealers markup's etc etc I can do better with manufacturer that sells direct to the public. So does anyone have opinions on whether I can do better for the price? Thanks!
  6. Hi everyone, How would the Osborn Epitome tower compare to, say, Revel F208 and F228Be, Kef R11, or Focal Kanta? Thanks!
  7. Hi everyone, I am close to pulling the trigger on a pair of Revel F228Be as I’ve found a deal that seems difficult to pass up. The Revels are super smooth and measure brilliantly. I’m value conscious though and the Revels are hitting the limit of my budget so I’m keen to know if there are any obvious alternatives I should be testing before I pull the trigger? My chain includes Minidsp pre (with Dirac) and a 400w Purifi power amp so very transparent. Thanks!
  8. Hi all, There are some speakers I'm considering buying from the US, but they don't ship international. I know there are shippers like MyUS, but they often have size/weight restrictions. Does anyone know of one of those that can supply a US shipping address and can accommodate some large floorstanders? Thanks!

  15. Hi anyone, Does anyone know of a dealer in NSW (Newcastle-Sydney-Wollongong) that has Kef R7 and Revel F36/F206/F208 in stock to listen to as an A/B test? Seems like the Kef's are common enough but the Revel's are pretty hard to come by. Thanks!
  16. Does anyone have feedback on March Audio equipment over the last year?
  17. Hi everyone, I currently have a Raspberry Pi with an Allo Boss DAC that is used as a Roon (Tidal) streamer to my Onkyo integrated amplifier and onto my LS50's. I'm soon going to be upgrading the Onkyo to either a Rega Elex-R or Elicit-R and in preparation want to address an issue I have with my streamer. And that is, whilst Roon and Tidal are great, I'm thinking of cancelling their services and simply using YouTube Music (part of the YouTube Premium package). So I'm wondering how I can stream music to the Raspberry Pi DAC, then out to my amplifier. Any advice? Thanks!
