Great news! The phantom looks amazing! I heard it in the store it sounds really good for that size.

Movie effects are different, I am not talking about the music in Movie, I am talking about the special sound like explosion. And for movie effects the accuracy is not the most important, it’s the effect is the most important. In many industry you see product designed for different purpose, even the main speaker. It is not that simple and easy that you think make it accurate then will resolve all the problems. Accuracy doesn’t resolve all the problems and doesn’t simply give you the best sounding. Like many monitor speakers or headphone that is quite accurate but not necessarily people enjoy their sounding characters. May be Music is about art, sound can be about accurate. BTW, REL has subs that designed for HT too.

I had used few subs and the REL S5 SHO and 212/SE, and their Carbon series. I found the REL are exceptional well for music listening, they are not good value sub woofer brand for movie, but for music they are one of the top brand without question. It reproduce so much low end details that was missing. The placement is extremely important for these sub, you hear significant different why placing differently.

I haven’t tried RCA input, only USB, AES, Ethernet... your input is analog signal or digital? But in any case I don’t think it should hot to a degree that cannot be touched.

I surprised. I have deal with Devialet a lot and I think their service is top notch! I am mainly deal with their HongKong and Sydney support team, and always one person service my ticket from beginning to the end. I deal with them multiple times, usually response in 2-3 days. May be try to call them and make a complain if you suffered from a region’s services attitude.

I think Devialet will reasonably take their responsibility, and reject abuse of warranty. If it’s a product fault they will deal with it and improve it in the future , instead of changing warranty policy which no good for long run. Plus even you deal with local dealer, they will bill Devialet anyway, and might be more than Devialet do it themselves with their permanent employees. I could be wrong, but Devialet is good in services I trust them a lot. When you say line level, what is that means?

Try not to stack your amps, put them horizontally apart from each other. I have experience with my previous OdA running at 63degrees but it’s still can be touched. It just feel a bit hot but not burning your skin. If your amp reach a temperature that you cannot put your finger on for 6 seconds that means it’s something wrong, at this temperature it should shut down itself automatically as I seen it before. Email Devialet directly and get it send back to factory for checking. Devialet has quite good customer service I think they above average. Once you experienced their high level service you will love Devialet more!! At least That’s my experience.

Hi, I had many Expert and only 1 has temperature over 60 degrees. Room temp is about 24 degree with air-conditioner on. Unless your Room is really hot, I don’t think you should experience that temperature. The one unit had over 60 degrees eventually find out a faulty unit, they fixed during the CI upgrade. I recommend you send the unit back to Pairs. Only they can help you.

Pretty disappointed about the Melbourne HiFi show, feels a bit low end. Venue narrow, crowed, low ceiling... not many big brands...

So apparently you got no idea why you still listing the number of reviews, me either.

No Offend, but it’s really a joke if anyone think the M-One is better than Devialet. If you do some study on the power supply unit that Devialet did in the Expert and compare to the one in M-One, M-One is a joke, especially the PSU in Expert Pro series probably one of the best SMPS PSU. And then you learn how important PSU is for all amps especially amps contains class d component. The M-One is by far worse than Devialet.

No need to thanks me, it wasn’t for you anyway. I just found i pointless to argue here the best way is suggest the OP few options and let him go and try to listen to it. If I have to say I think Devialet sound more detailed and less coloured sound to me.

The world’s best amp doesn’t do speaker or room optimisation, I suggest you get the chance to listen to both.

Completely Agreed. The Devialet 200 is really good value amp and it can be as good as many multi-boxes system that at a lot higher price if not beating them. Devialet can sound bright when the synergy with the rest of system is not there, its a very revealing amp.
