  1. Anyway, thanks for everyone's input. I am still collecting more information about how power conditioner can benefit sound quality for a Devialet type of amp. Anyway with similar amp or may be other Class D amp, welcome to share your PC(Power conditioner) experience if you found it improve or not.
  2. I agree, they should be able to provide proper docs at least a bit more detail than one line of word. And never reply email and answer phone calls. Those high end company are in a myth Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Gigawatt. If you write email to them they don't reply. If you call them no one answer. If search their street view it looks like a person's house. Nothing like They advertised. Also their HongKong distributor's URL in their website doesn't work. All those make me feel strange... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. No they don't offer home demo. Do you hear a big sound quality improvement from using your power conditioner? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. That's retail price? So P10 is more expensive than Gigawatt?
  6. You can get good discount on PC-3 SE (Retailed about $7-8K), however even after discounted, it will be still quite expensive! how much is the P10?? more expensive or cheaper? why you think gigawatt is better?
  7. @jt301 Jt301, seriously? Significant improvement on your LE400? Easily hear? how much is your power conditioner? can you describe how you feel the difference? Like what kind of difference? where do you live? South Australia? when you hear the difference, are you using vinyl player or digital ? Do you hear the same improvement when you play digital content like Spotify, CD player?
  8. This one better than Gigawatt? You know what, the Gigawatt'ss customer service email never reply, no one answer phone call. And a google street photo of their company building look like a house.
  9. My opinion is if the change is very slight. Then it very likely is a Psychological illusion. looks like most of the people in this thread don't think a Power conditioner will improve SQ. Some people said it improve noise floor, but I think most good gear should have very low noise floor, my devialet is slient when idle, put my ear 1cm next to it can't hear a tiny thing unless I play a music. So noise floor wise I think there is no space to improve. Some people said it improve dynamic, I am not sure what is that and how it can improve it. Some said it's because the Power conditioner has built in power bank so when the amp need huge amount of power instantly it has the power ready to feed it. Not sure if this is true?
  10. did you compare your gigawatt and your friends Isotek ??? Does your friend's Isotek power conditioner making any noticeable difference?? The Gigawatt PC-3 SE EVO is $7700 retail, but the discounted price is at least $2000 less, how much you spent for your PC-3 SE? can you please PM me?
  11. @JohnL That power conditioner is a high end conditioner, they have lower end models which cost around 3K, but even 3K is not cheap. Plus there is no chance to test it out, so I am not really willing to spend that much money. What about speaker cable? does it improve SQ more than Power cable? with room treatment is more difficulty because it doesn't belong to myself its hard to find something works great and also minimum impact to the look of the room.
  12. yea, that's a good suggestion and one of the option to me as well. the gigawatt conditioner advertised it has a high power bank which allow the amp draw very high power at some peak time during the music play back. i am not sure if this is true.
  13. Hi Hensa @Hensa When you mention " dropping the noise floor and thus increasing clarity", my devialet currently is extremely clear, and noise floor is already really low. When I turned on my amp and turns volume to maximum, and put my ear next to each speaker drive, I can't hear any sound from the driver, so i am not sure if it can be drop further because i already hear no noise in background when not playing music.(idle)
  14. My main concern is make sure the amp is safe, but my current power board can do this. If I buy the power conditioner, for that much money, i want something distinctly different, not kind of "feels" better. it has to be easily identified "better" My brother purchase a good cable for his $2K earphone, when he change to a better cable, it does sound difference, which I initially don't believe. So I am not sure about the Power conditioner, is it really makes difference.
  15. @Darren69 You mean my house already built in a surge protection function? the house was built on 2007. The Belkin power board advertised it protected this and that including surge. Sometimes Melbourne has very strong storm weather like once a year, you should I am OK?? I am living in an inner suburb. I saw many people said they hear distinct or huge difference by using a power conditioner. I also emailed Devialet, amp manufacturer, they don't want to answer my question directly.
  16. Darren, Thanks. The Amp I am looking at is GigaWatt PC-3 SE EVO, retailed at $7700+ I really can't afford to try it, even after discounted still very expensive. I do hear some people said Power Conditioner can reduced dynamic but they said GigaWatt is one of those exception that has no side effects. My Devialet currently pluged into a Belkin PureAV power board which has some basic protection feature build in. I am bit worry plug into the wall directly isn't very safe?
  17. Hi I just bought a Devialet EXPERT PRO amp and wondering if it can be benefited from a good power conditioner? does any one have very good experience with power conditioner? I am looking for a improvement that is can easily be identified/heard. Because I believe if its can not be easily identified, then mostly likely it makes no difference. Thank you very much if you can share your experience with some details. thank you!
  18. How is Jamo C809 + Sony 5300ES??? or Onkyo better for the C809? the BOSE is very expensive, the sales woman told me they are using premium speakers.... the speaker doesn't look hi-fi, looks small and cheap, like multi-mieda speakers for computers.
  19. I went to the Melbourne home show and saw the demo from BOSE. Very tiny speakers but very loud sound. The cheapest 5.1 system RRP 4999 (or 3999 not sure??), this price include the speakers and its own amp. How do you think about Bose sound system for listening to Hi-Fi music? How is it compare to a Sony 5300ES AV Receiver + Jamo C809 2.0 Front speakers? Those speakers don't have tre-speakers how can they produce good tre-sound? what's your opinion?
  20. I am correct, I did a test for both of my mobile batteries. The one I keep recharge every night has significant shorter lasting time after a month. Its up to you to believe or not. Li-ion Battery is not that easy to maintain. If you recharge very frequently it brings negative effects to its capacity. Also, you can not leave Li-ion in a status of low-power-level for long time. And Its very good to has it fully discharged and fully recharged per month. Anyway. i think remote is make to be convenient and you can throw it away to your sofa when you want to walk away. Putting back to its dock everytime/everyweek/everymonth is very convenient. and Li-ion battery can not be bought anywhere. and Its expensive. Try to seek some universal remote with smaller non-color LCD and longer battery life time. But don't buy some off-brand from ebay. As I bought one and doesn't learn the 'change input' signal from my kuro remote. the sony is good, and its cheap, but it may not as easy to config as logitech.
  21. I got the 5300ES, you need to buy a additional dock from sony to connect your iPod to the DMP(Ditital Media Port). I don't think it will display a digital menu...but I am not sure. ES series is the only series receiver worth to buy from SONY. all the rest series are extremely crap.
  22. placing the remote on the dock will shorten the battery life. It keeps recharging. when it reach 100%, it stop recharging. but after few hour, when the battery drop to 99%, it recharge again. You bettery not put it on the dock all the time. and the battery is special designed. I will prefer the sony remote. does the same job. and long battery life. normal AAA battery.
  23. my personal opinion, DO NOT buy this 1000i logitech remote. The battery runs flat extremely quick. And you must always not to forgot put it back to its dock for recharging. Imagine you have to remember put it back to its dock every day you finish using it, its a pain. a CNET review reports it need to be recharge every 2-3 days... remote should be making convenient not like this ****. you should be able to throw it away and walk away when you don't need it. NOT put it back to dock every time. I bought a SONY AX-RM 1400 from USA from ebay. Cheap. AUD 30 included shipping fee. and works very well. it does all the function that logiech remote does. With a battery run time like 5 Months vs logitechs 2-3 days!!! People doesn't need a huge LCD color screen for this kind of device. its drains a lot of power. The lastest Logitech Harmony ONE is a bit better, can last a week, but still unacceptable. that means 4 times recharge per month. Crap.
  24. well, many review say higher contrast rate means the deeper black color, why Owen said contrast rate and black color are separated? Kuro 9G released ?? so LX508 and 608 is 8G??? I think the LX is better than the PZ800. Pana's quality not very good, from the housing case can tells. I don't understand why pana rate it 30,000:1, not feeling shame at all...
  25. becareful PZ800 is not 30:000:1 contrast, its overrated!! Pana's cheating!
