My Next Horns

Nice article Tuyen , dig the dual Bass Horn Drivers up nice n high.

Just reading and the b&c 8pe21 says an FS of 87hz , seems rather high unless i misread for 50/60hz bass horn cut.

Looking forwards to more Hornographic Pursuits in upcoming Part 2

Check the hornographics article out on 6moons back in 2008.

they ran 2x b&c 8pe21 drivers each side.  Got a nice even response between 60-900hz.

I've been reading this 6 Moons article a couple of times a year since it came out.  Those bass horns look great (and it's using my conical midrange horn).

You know you have to build a replica Tuyen!  🙂

Great find Tuyen.

Are these your next horns? 🙂

Baby bakoon driving the rullit field coils and horn tweeters is a nice pairing.  Yamaha p2050 feeding the jbl e130 woofers.

still waiting on throat extensions for the bass horns so can play with 8” midbass drivers.  All fun!

Historic marvel of audio engineering.  Makes me wonder how this was wonderfully conceived  given its 90 odd year old technology , driven by only 8 little WE 555w  compression drivers !
Wow 😮

Cool look back down memory lane to your 2012 thread , Tuyens Sato Horns 🤙

Some interesting comments and Horns to admire , back in the easier days , boy time flies.

Bet you still have a soft spot for the Sato Horns.

Certainly still have a sweet spot for big folded horns!   I was fortunate enough to visit the GIP Labs in Japan and got to hear a few big Western Electric styled horns with WE/GIP field coil drivers.   Absolutely incredible..     (price wise too!)    Highly recommended if you visiting Japan.

below aren't my videos, but thought I'd share anyways.  Can hear the richness of the tone and scale even through the little headphones!

And his hair is styled by the soundwaves coming out of the horns!

@La scala Here’s a setup that uses similar driver configuration as your lovely new lm3 setup. 18” gip fc woofer, we22a horn with 555 fc and gip597 fc tweeters.

Look how big the demo room is and how engaging and enveloping the music sounds.    Amazing!

Cheers Tuyen , fab sounding clip ,  I can always feel instantly the tonal vibe thru the I Pad when a system ticks the right boxes.  I am so grateful for the Vintage Sound Option , it’s a whole different level of enjoyment.
Anyhow had to try the Altec 515b out at home since not needed at the shop any more.

Yes , lots to like with these , thought they are more deluxe than the JBL K140s.

Discovered a few extra decibels keeps my snotty nose from running 😪

If Groucho Marx and Frank Zappa had a love child ^^^ (Don't ask me how!)

awesome video.  the demo music sounds well tonally balanced and effortless even good through the video.     looking forward to part 2 where they show the other end of the bass and midbass horns being driven by the GOTO UNIT and ALE ACOUSTICS / YL ACOUSTICS compression bass drivers.

Yeah agree a well done coverage vid on his creation.
Like the mids and highs inside the bass concrete horn.

While watching and thinking how he time aligns his horns , thanks to subtitles , the DEXQ was his chosen device interestingly.
Second last song was sweet.

Tuyen If your free this mid / late Friday afternoon , Mick is coming up with  Jon & Martin ,for a trip to the shop for LM3 soundcheck , after we check out SteveM system around noon.

Happy days V

The LM3 horns are sounding super V.  Open, full/rich, effortless, coherent and refined is how I would describe them. At low and high volumes. I think the high end CJ tube front end and amps helps with this too. Perfect synergy.

A very good fit for your workshop.  Thank you for the opportunity for a listen and chat as always.  Good to see some old familiar faces still around and keeping well! (Mick, THOMO, SteveM and Martin).
