Martykt Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 Look great Marc. Is there much running in time with the JBLs?
Guest Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 300 hours I’ve been reliably told. needless to say - they’re getting an introductory workout 2

Difficult speakers to move around to set them up that way though... How's the introductory workout sounding?
kelossus Posted May 22, 2020 Posted May 22, 2020 Mate well done. Please don't tell me you are going to vinyl wrap that beautiful veneer.
romekaff Posted May 23, 2020 Posted May 23, 2020 The only JBL speaker I will sell my Array’s for!! Not the K2’s not the older Everest’s only these!! Well done mate you’re a very lucky man! 1

So far there's not really a genre that stands out as best for the Everests, they do it all well, including of course rock. Dub though - that's out of this world and I have a new appreciation for it! I had read that they needed to be cranked to settle down and be balanced. I've found this incorrect and at normal levels, they're beautifully detailed and balanced. Their strength so far is their soundstage projection and I don't think I've heard a speaker do it better, ever. It's completely seamless from left to right, wide, tall and deep. After a quick Dirac Live tune this afternoon and a movie with the family this evening, it confirmed my choice of speaker that could be dual purpose and for cinema, they really do kick. Needless to say, I'm very happy and can't think where anyone would really go from here so yes, endgame. 6
Guest jakeyb77 Posted May 24, 2020 Posted May 24, 2020 One in the nuts for all those in the “Just Bloody Loud” camp! Glad you’re enjoying them. They look sensational
Dalamii Posted May 31, 2020 Posted May 31, 2020 I am not sure how I missed this post, but this is freaking awesome!!! From first photo to the JBL arrived, I'm gonna show this to my wife how lucky you are Marc. Very nice room!

It took 5 years and 3 longer than planned, but we now have the new garage too (the original one was stolen for this room) as part of a major extension to the house. Best of both worlds now. 10

Cardiiiii Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 Thought you went for the white ones? Or is the back of the speakers white?

Can't go wrong with that Walnut finish though!
Guest Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 The walnut is fine but just doesn't match the overall aesthetic of the room. I haven't decided on colour, but white as much as I would like it will like cause too much reflection when in movie mode. I'm perhaps leaning towards a brushed dark aluminium/charcoal but not settled yet. 1

tubularbells Posted July 13, 2020 Posted July 13, 2020 Slight increase in centre channel size Besides the new speaker there's a fair bit of unused real estate behind that wall so has that cavity been filled or will be utilised in any way?
