so....position the stand and carpet spikes in position then gently lower the sub on top into location.. nearly broke my back :D doing so :D will need do some exercises before bed and will pay the price tomorrow am sure :D

No need to do this Al. I have a couple of these Aperta and really liked them.

The easiest way to do it is to first mark with some masking tape or similar where the subs are located so that you can put them back there again.

Take the subs and placed them upside down on the couch or similar. I use blu tack and place it where the Aperta feet are going to be located. Put the 4 bits of blu tack. This will allow you also to measure so that the Aperta is sitting exactly where you want them underneath the sub. Place the logo facing the front of the sub.

Just press the Aperta so that the blu tack gets in. If using the spikes then do the same for each of the Aperta feet.

Now you can lift your 30kg sub and the Aperta will not come off it. Just place your sub back on the ground.

Lastly, if you need to remove or re-position the Aperta don't pull! Pulling may cause some damage.

Instead, rotate the Aperta and the blu tack will just break apart, leaving no damage to the cabinets.

When I bought my PMC speakers they came with blu tack as well so it works really well and no damage to the cabinets which of course is paramount.

Love it ! And wish I knew !!!

Very good thinking ! Will keep

In mind for next time …

I need do the sopra 3 at some stage and get the gaia iso acoustic feet on. And carpet spikes !

Official focal rep in USA says to lie the speakers down on side strip base and refit with isoacoustic feet and then Stand up where meant to go as very hard to move after !

How spikes meant to also get in underneath am not looking forward to in what are 80kg of each things that are apparently not going to be easy to move :D

Please check the floor structure, hopefully it can take the megalithic stress.😉

That's sad, Al ! 🫤

I had a noisy wood step up from our study into the bedroom, every time l used it I'd hear a creak and cracking sound.

It took me awhile, to realise it was my dodgy knee! 😂

It is in the house.. the 43kg of it, it says on the box :D ..

and out of the box

IMG_2417.jpeg

had to bend ze knees :D to protect the back and its in position ! can see why i was bracing for impact last week...! its a beefy unit the PS Audio DirectStream PowerPlant P15 regenerator....which takes a step up for me from the power plant 12 I had before.

while a demo unit, its only been on static display, still with its plastic top sheet on and looks brand spanking new !

IMG_2418.jpeg

time for hook up and one of main reasons i got this, is has more ports so can get ALL my gear onto this to enjoy its goodness all around !

IMG_2420.jpeg

and we are all hooked up and going :)

A beast for sure! Nice work Al.

PS audio sure make them well ! the casing and heat sinks is same as the big BHK amps am pretty sure ! passively cooled and the heat sinks only get slightly warm not more which is good design i think.

This is me going back to the well....and a deeper well :D with this bigger capacity unit.

Some quick checks with its onboard scope, in vs out ... is regenerating the power supply well

IMG_2427.jpegIMG_2424.jpeg

and the key measures, this is just coasting at most with system cranking its about 185w so plenty in reserve

IMG_2426.jpegIMG_2433.jpeg

its really interesting when i pulled the p12 out the system, I had to plug the amp and streamer direct into the wall... and gosh.. you really realise what your missing ...when its not there.... :D

and then, realised again what i had been missing when plugged the new P15 and system into it...

I trully cant believe the difference these regenerators work !

When i spoke to Geoff at Heynow originally, I said .. you know how music seems to sound better at 2 am :D he said with one of these it will be like listening to music all day long as if its 2am :D and he was spot on ! the p12 is an amazing unit for the money...its only shortcoming has only 4 ports and 1000w limited pull if want more fortunately the p15 is there :)

thanks Joz, this power plant 15 can do 1500W vs P12 that was limited to 1000w so another 500W available...

there's a bigger beastie .. in the power plant p20 thats 2000W :O but yeah i dont need that, its in the "don't even think about it" category hehe !

Al I did alone on the Sopra 2's, it's not too hard, and you only unscrew the fronts.

ok a little unplanned addition here.. what do i do when things like this pop up.. please dont ask me to explain it.. still trying to figure out what to tell the wife... :D

Its a minty Rega p25 that turned up... i gave a good going over and it seems to have scrubbed up pretty well :D

IMG_2603.jpeg

ok its a new friend to keep the lonely p9 company... amongst all these digital sources ! all right its a nostalgia purchase :D a p25 got me back in vinyl in 1999 - 2000, it was a special 25 year anniversary special for Rega..25 years ago ! . ... interestingly my thread is still there when i got an ortofon jubilee onto my original p25 !

And p25 something I owned some nearly 10 years, and after getting the jubilee onto it I shortly after moved onto the p9...it was tough to see the p25 go, so good to get one back again :)

the p25 from previous owner came with a Grado Gold cart.. which is an interesting choice...be interesting how it compares to p9 and its vdh Crimson...I do like the Grado sound ...so hoping its a good thing..

anyways ...its gone out the door as soon as it came in :D dropped it off at CAV for a checkover.. for something 25 years old thought worth a look over from the vinyl expert there :)

and not that its much use for me right now... with no phono pre as still awaiting its arrival .. must be only one on this forum with two turntables and no phono pre :D

You're hopeless, Al ! 🤣

But l get it, done much worse than you before!

Always hankered after a P25 several years ago, but never got one.

Need to move from the letter "R" - next is "L " or heaven forbid big "H" . 😉

thanks a pretty humble deck in some ways.. but punches way above its weight i think :)

apparently some collectable value now the CAV guys told me. this one a great example being one owner all the way ... and been looked after it seems.
