OK smarty pants word users. Beer and wierd little words don't mix thank you very much until the wee hours, when one is blotto and it all makes sense.[/b]

On the contrary, my curmudgeonly comrade. Ever wanted to be multilingual so you could swear in lots of different languages without offending (hardly) anybody? Well, get enough of a skinful - AND YOU CAN! It's magic, I tells ya.

I like a bit of hefe in mine

hefeweizenbier bitte, noch mal[/b]

Oh yes, I drank lot of that, and the dunkel (dark) weis beer when I lived in Munich. Beer is classified as an essential food in Bavaria, which meant you could buy crates of it 24 hours a day from petrol stations, cheap too.

A traditional Bavarian breakfast, is a beer and wurst (sausage), so much so, the canteen at Siemens served beer, and if you went there for breakfast, you could see execs in suits with a beer in one hand sausage in the other!

I'll drink to that!

Ich weiß es selbst.

Its a bit exxy here though. altho Dan was stocking it and I have the branded glasses to fill into

The dunkel is always good

Zum wohl!

for me...little creatures pale ale is the go.

hmmm, boags st george or beez neez are easily the two best beers i have tasted

pure blonde is a good 'any time' beer (in fact, any beer is a good 'any time' beer), but has to be COLD!

yet to try little creatures though...have heard good things

Yep top drop. All the little creatures ones are good, I particularly like the Rogers, which used to be called Amber ale, only mid-strength too.

Just enjoying an Oettinger pils on a 0.5ltr Bitburger tankard, all fresh from a trip to Dans

Only $30/case and $18/6 for the tankards, so good valueI thought

On the way, dropped in at DS Powerhouse and JBs Chadstone on an HDDVD chase. Only 1 title left in both shops! $9.48

also, Powerhouse has signs up everywhere saying they are not going to be stocking cds now apart from latest releases. Will be able to burn your own cd disc selections using kiosks (like they have for photo printing) from the million tracks they'll have loaded, pay per track. Cool, not sure on burn quality though.

Should be some good bargains by end of March as they meet their deadline to get rid of their 10000 cds tho

PS Actually the Oettinger is a bit bland, but still better than nothing whilst typing

Nothing to do with me, but l can vouch for the beer. Beautiful stuff, almost as enjoyable as a nice Shiraz.[/b]

Shiraz? Don't tell me you got wineries in Gippsland too, Mondie?

What, you have trouble slipping that word into a beer thread?? "I'm a bigger better aussie than you, and I can down more schooners and you'll be on the floor in no time...asunder a table"

well, that wasn't so good but you get the drift[/b]

Bugger. And I thought this forum would be full of Chardonnay drinking metrosexuals... Boy, did I get that one wrong

Shhhh....not so loud Dan. There's a few boys around here who are a bit partial to the amber fluid. The mere mention of the word could cause a stampede of gargantuan proportions, especially with those South Aussies....Whatever you do, DON"T mention.....

Oh no, did Dan say THE word...?

Yeah Grumpy, could be the only sensible thing to do. You guys have had some hot ones down there, this summer. In Sydney we had the mildest summer for about 15 years - not a day over 30 this year. Anyway, keep cool and calm tomorrow, you don't want to end up....er....um....Grumpy...

This should keep you cool....
