Ive already showed her pics of them because I suggested them for Christmas. If they magically appeared in the house she would flip.😂

 

I know right, when I pulled them apart I was trying to think of a way to use them. The ones from Simply Hifi were under my power amp so took them out and they fitted perfectly. I have been looking online to see if I could find some more to buy but can’t seem to find them.

  Don't forget to reverse phase at the speakers, which I am sure you haven't 👍

It’s a real beast, bigger than my power amp. Beautiful to look at, it oozes quality. Now to start saving for the GAT. 😂

How's the system sounding since you installed the power plant? Some say they help, others that they hinder. What's your opinion now you've had a few months to get used to it?

To be honest with you I haven’t done a whole lot of serious listening in the last couple of months.

I got back from holiday and was thrown right in the deep end at work. Supervising 2 jobs at the minute and starting to get my head around a third job beginning next year.

I pretty much put it in the system the same time as the CJ so a little hard to tell and to lazy to unplug it all to see if I can hear any difference. 
I don’t think it’s hurting the sound at all and if there is an improvement it would be very subtle. If I paid full retail i think I would be pretty disappointed.

The good thing is all my gear is now getting fed a constant 230v.

Thanks Dave and wow! sounds like your chasing your tail at work, hope they're making it worth your while. Being retired I just sit and read about such stuff with my hands folded across my fat belly and enjoy my music. Me? I've just had another back op that's gone really well (so far) and will be taking it easy (even easier) 'till Christmas, then back (see what I did there) on the bike and golf course.

 

Not much changed in the main SGR system but am considering selling the hybrid WAR Audio active system, it sounds way too good for TV speakers and is cluttering my rack and room. Time to simplify I think, as so amny on here seem to be doing.

 

Yeah mains conditioning is a divisive subject. Some love and swear by, others deride as deadening or robbing dynamics. I've been using a Thoroughbred mains 'cleanser' that I got at the same time as the SGR's and NEVER tried them without, now that's lazy. Perhaps it's time.

Hopefully the back keeps getting better mate. Mine’s been giving me grief lately, it really affects so many areas of life when it’s bad. You’ll be back on course reasonably soon by the sound of it.

 

The PS I got for a bit of a steal so I’m happy with it. I thought when I plugged it in I could hear an improvement but was crook with a flu that was going around so dunno. 🤷

 

I hear you about simplifying, my setup used to be reasonably uncluttered but now I’m struggling to fit everything in the rack. No chance for a bigger rack so maybe I need to stop buying stuff. 😁
