Absolutely, I like my discs sealed, not opened and the discs shoved in the drawers behind the counter. And the covers placed on display for everyone to scratch up and with big 'SALE' stickers on them?

Didn't stores do that back in the 80s?

We do have a exchange/refund policy, where if possible it would be changed over for the same BD no questions asked or easily changed for another or refunded.

If you wanted to i can send you a couple brand new blu-ray cases, you'ld just need to pay the postage, i think they retal at something ridiculous like $7 each at JB

I'm not game to say until I have checked out No Country for Old Men ... if the wiggly scratch effects playback I'll need the cooperation of the staff to get it replaced - I don't want to incur the full wrath of the Door **** .... perhaps it's a Gen Y thing.

LOL, Fair enough, i can see where your coming from, was it a VIC store?

I would suggest you go and have a read of the rules and regs of the forum mate and take the commercialism out of here, I have reported you to the mods and also made note to them of you trying to undermine genuine forum members sales/trades in the relevant thread, take it elsewhere

I honestly cant believe any one would buy anything from Sanity. They are a total rip off. Just look at their CD prices and their nomal BD prices are more expensive than JB for crying out loud.

I just dont know how they are still around...

Rant over!

Agreed, their range of CDs is very limited & the price of everything is so dear.

Movies often not sealed as they store the discs separately behind the counter....

Definitely not a place to find a good deal!

I also keep wondering how Sanity can still survive for so long!

When Myer still have their own music & movies dept, I could spend hours in Melb Lonsdale Street store.

Not any more since Virgin took over!

The BD Prices are actually falling atm, and are falling in line with other stores,

Most of the (movie) stock is now comparable, i.e. Australia, QOS and Twilight releases, JB has them all 1 cent cheaper.

People just have this presumption Sanity are more expensive and don't even look at the prices... If your looking for anything, it just pays to shops around first

I shopped around on price for QoS last week, rang the local Sanity and was told $44.99 with no room to move on price.................................you must be kidding if you think that is a competitive price when KMart and Target 5 mins down the road had it at $36.99 and my local Video rental chain store pricematched the BigW price of $31.93

And you wonder why people don't bother going to Sanity.

So I opted for No Country for Old Men and 310 to Yuma ....... both filthy mind you with scratches and Sanity stickers all over them .... can I get 2 sealed copies? "It's floor stock only! that's all we have!"

Just noticed a little wiggly scratch on No Country for Old Men - I hope it plays ok ..... I can only imagine how hard it;s going to be to get a replacement.

The first time I shopped at Sanity I thought they were selling used products. Like it was a sale, so I thought, yeah why not, sale for used items that's alright no harm done. So I end up with an old case from display with a huge red sticker (the glue are the ones you can't remove easily) on it and the DVD came from elsewhere. I think that was the last time I bought something from Sanity as well. Pardon me if that's how ppl shopped in Aussie as I was still a newbie back then :) But the exact same experience happened to me i EB games Australia and I'm not intentionally pinpointing one store name lol

Nowadays, I get brand new games and movies sealed mostly from online or stores like Big W and JB, the sealed part did gave me more confidence to come back for more :P

LOL, No i don't own Sanity, the original intention was merely to let the forum members that there is a sale on atm and that they could save some much needed money :D

Juz might drop by 1 day next month to see if I get "The Strangers" and something else... $50 contribution in support of the retail sector.. :ninja:..

Yeh, Online prices match the store prices, if not ask them to scan the item, sometimes it will have been missed in a price reduction

This is found at the bottom of the online store:

All prices at Sanity.com.au are in Australian dollars and apply to on-line purchases only and will not be matched at any Sanity, HMV or Virgin Music retail location.

Went to Sanity Brisbane CBD. No "The Deer Hunter" in stock, but was told HMV had it.

Bought "The Deer Hunter" & "Men in Black". Was tempted by 3:10 to Yuma, Casino, Rambo(must complete my Rambo trilogy collection) and a lot more.

"The Deer Hunter" is a masterpiece of filmmaking and looks & sounds brillant in BD.

My 1st HMV purchase.

It's good to see Sanity/HMV offering competetive pricing.

I can confirm Die Hard boxset is $65 @ Sanity, the same price I got it for just before Christmas.

Just bear in mind that these three-packs come in a special packaging, where the three discs are in one file-like folio, with each only attached by a foam ring. It's not three separate Blu-ray boxes in one set.

It may make a difference to Bond collectors, because the cover art on the individual discs is much nicer than these boxes. Also, because the movies are not being released in the order they were first released in the cinemas, these boxed sets are all jumbled up.

I bought these boxed sets when Amazon had a similar offer, then sold them off and bought the six individual movies when Amazon also had them on offer, because I just didn't like this packaging.

The problem is once u start buying, its hard to stop...

Not for me, I learnt my lesson in my DVD days, and not to mention my HD-DVD drop kick purchases. I only buy the necessities. I'm not gonna pay 30 bucks for a film I watch once every 6 months. I'd just hire those. <_<:P

Dick Smiths 2 for $60 sales also gives you a $5.00 discount for next purchase over $50, this is a great deal

I bought from DSE a few times but no $5 voucher. Is that a Melbourne only thing?

Got Black Hawk Down today for $19.48. Funny they have 5 copies but 4 of them are rattler. The odd one has the normal $32 price tag and they let me have it with the special rate. First thought the low price is for those broken cases and they all have the flat print bluray logo unlike the normals. Don't know where this batch came from.

Australia is on sale today in Sydney city. $39.xx in JB and $35.xx in DSE. Too bad there is one disc in Macquarie Centre I want but not available in the City store. So I took the train there only to find out they won't have Australia till 1st April. Also there is no 2 for $60 sign in the city store and I can't find 2 disc I like and everyone is busy at lunch break so I didn't ask if they have the promo or not.

Anyone knows if Sydney store has this 2 for $60 promo and when will it end? Hope it is not the end of March.
