I haven't actually heard these yet, Any good?

I received my pair of Aurealis R1's (silver) yesterday. They are stunning quality, sound etc, at any price!

Were these terminated with the Valabs RCA's?

I have a pair of r1s with the silver eichmanns, a very good cable IMO. Made my system sound more real and balanced. When the time comes to purchase more ill be hitting Geoff up again.

No, he didn't have the valabs at the time I ordered them.

I should also mention, I like the Aurealis that much that's I'm looking into his speaker cables.

I don't think he is making speakers cables........yet, I'm definitely trying them if he does though :)

I have the Copper/Silver R1's in my system ATM and like them a lot! also got some all Copper ones for a mate's system, both are good.

They are superb cables - I happily endorse them. Total bargain. The R1's give a wider soundstage and the R2's a deeper more focusd presentation.

Being slothful by nature......is there a link?

Yep they are good. Not sure if Geoff is ready for the influx of orders. Will keep him busy.

I know he was struggling to get eichmann plugs. That may have past.

He is a member here. He might chime in

Looking forward to getting a set or 2 of the Cu R1's.

Geoff, if your listening some decent phono sockets would be good too.

I've got two pairs of Geoff's interconnects - R1 with the silver/copper Neotech wire and copper Eichmanns, and R2 CuT with copper Neotech wire and copper Eichmanns. I found the R1s to provide a wider and deeper sound stage with vocal elements being level with, or even slightly behind, the speakers. It's like you're listening into the music. The R2s provide a more focused and forward centre image with vocals coming out you, and a slightly narrower sound stage overall.

I'm still not sure which I prefer most! Both are brilliant in their own way!

Highly recommended indeed.

Hi Guys

A couple of people just slipped me the link to this thread. Thanks for all the kinds words, I am very appreciative of the feedback the interconnects have been getting from people. That said, I'm always pretty cautious about the SNA rules which don't let allow me or others to promote their products, and for good reason. But I guess if I stick to the facts I'll be okay:

- No idea when I can get any more Eichmann bullets. Eichmann are not responding to any emails or phone calls. I haven't heard anything from them since 6 November.

- The Eichmann copper RCAs are made of gold-plated tellurium copper. Tellurium copper bullets are few and far between. Resistance wise the VaLabs tested the same as the Eichmanns. By comparison the Eichmann brass bullets had around 3-4 times more resistance than Eichmann copper bullets and the VaLabs. I also scraped one of the VaLabs back and it was definitely copper under the Rhodium plating. So I am happy the VaLabs are tellurium copper as advertised.

- In my system the VaLabs are maintaining the sound of the R1 interconnects. I would prefer to use the Eichmann's as it's an Australian company, but it is unclear what their future will be. I tested other gold plated tellurium copper RCAs but thought the Rhodium was more neutral.

- I have small amount of Eichmann RCA sockets, which I occasionally take out of their storage bag and admire because they are just so robust.

You can always PM me:) cheers, Geoff

ps: that zb guy is very clever recommending this wire :)

I have not listened to to the Aurealis Interconnects, but I use Neotech cables.

Shameless self promotion

I have several Neotech cables for sale in the for sale section!

Geoff has made his first prototype speakers cables which he has sent to me to try out. I have run them in for 24 hours so far and just begun comparing them to 4 different speaker cables I have of varying price points.

The results are very promising at this stage and I will elaborate a little more in a few days time.

I already have 3 sets of his IC's which punch well above their weight.

Hi Victor,

How would you rate the Aurealis ics vs the Signal Cable ics you have recommended before?

Cheers, Dave

I didn't know, that's cool and I'll be up for a set for sure :thumb:

Hi Dave,

Unfortunately I don't have the Signal Cable IC for comparisons anymore. But from audio memory, we all know it can't be trusted, I found the Signal Cable IC to have a tad more foundation.

The Aurealis a more revealing, open sound with better clarity.

I have just been comparing my Signal Cable Ultra speaker cables to the prototype Aurealis speaker cables. I thought best post up my thoughts immediately with the music still fresh in my head.

Listening to a slow Shelley Horn track her voice sounds more alluring with the Aurealis mainly because of its clarity over the Signal Cable. David Foster and Friends St Elmos Fire is a live recording and sounds much more

realistic with the Aurealis. Although the warmth of the Signal Cable and extra foundation makes the track enjoyable to listen to it loses the realism. Finally listening to a drum track Les Tontons Makaude the Signal Cable Ultra seems to

excel due to its ability to go down a little deeper. But once again I felt the Aurealis sounded more exciting and truer to the recording. Drum beats were cleaner and faster sounding with the Aurealis.

Everything is system dependant of course but based on my experiences Aurealis IC's and hopefully soon to be released SC's come highly recommended.
