Analog bargin !!!!

Reminds me of something a colleague told me many years ago (he was a keen amateur 16mm film camera-man):

If you have a friend you don't much care for, give him an 8mm movie camera. It will cost him a fortune feeding it with film stock and developing costs. If you know someone that you hate, give him a 16mm movie camera. It will send him bankrupt.

Same deal with a half inch recorder. The one in the ad is very well priced (assuming it doesn't need heads, pinch rollers, or anything else which is NLA), but the availability and cost of tape is crippling.

FYI this 301 ad is a scam: http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/brockman/other-audio/garrard-301-turntable-record-player/1101428515

This guy pops up every now and then and lists the same thing. Someone who got taken in put up a warning ad last time—he wired him money and of course nothing ever arrived.

I understand the frustration but sometimes it is the only way of getting an idea of a market price/valuation. I may need to do so soon

I'm from the UK and the equivalent hifi fora have close on 20,000 members. So lots of equipment and variety so there's a way of checking asking prices (along with completed listings on eBay).

I have Krell CD/DAC KPS-20i which in its day (probably 15 years ago) was among the top 5 best CD players in the world. It cost new (I got it s/hand) when it came out £10,000. Yes ten thousand. I might sell to have a change but that decision depends on what price I might get. How do you do,that without putting an arbitrary figure as EOI?

They are rare enough in the UK .

Hi fi engine would give you an approximate value ?
