RaoR's systems

Featured Replies

Hey guys

I had the camera out today for a different reason and thought i would take some snaps of my systems.

Pics are pretty poor actually. But the camera isnt mine and i didnt want to change the settings

HT first, then my stereo, then my PITA turntable (which i love when it works)

yeah thats about it, its kinda of a mismatch of cheap stuff. Not bad for a uni bum though

i forgot to mention, i built those stands that the Focals are on

came out a treat

What a great looking set up('s) you have there Nathan.

I love the look of NAD gear. Can't help but notice that the port in those speaker looks huge, I'd say they would be very nice to listen to.

What magazines are they in the folder? - Nosy bugger aren't I?:D

Nice stands too!

Cheers for showing your setup. Not bad for uni student indeed.:D I had nothing comparable when i was in uni.

They are Street Commodore magazines, we love our cars in this household aswell

I love these Focals, that port can almost fit my fist in, its quite large. I love the look of NAD gear aswell, so simple and clean.

thanks for the comments :D

Yep. looking good. In one pic the CDP looks the same colour as the amp but not the other :love AND you can't even see the rub mark on the front, nice photography :D

nice systems RAOR.

from a fellow VAF and NAD owner :D

I never notice the rub mark, even my clean freak mum couldnt pick it up

I try to keep the light to minimum in that room so the colour difference doesnt show up :o its only a slight shade. Only 2 years between the products aswell which i thought they wouldnt change colours in. Oh well, at least its not silver or something

VAF and NAD make beautiful music together, but NAD and Focal is better for that sized room and the volume i listen to :D

I love the look of the equipment rack Nathan - very chunky and solid; now for some LP storage units perhaps?

Roackandorroll now has a Rega Planar 3

that completes the system for awhile, next will be looking at amps to replace the Redgum. maybe Vincents atm but i want to hear a few other things

not touching anything else on HT, too much money on that as it is.

might look at small things like Carts and DAC's.

will have pics soon, but right now im busy listening to Meat Loaf on the Planar 3

You have it bad don't you Nathan;)

Well done Nathan, how does the Planar 3 sound?:)

  • Author

Planar sounds really good. Its the small things. On the Project if i tapped the plinth it would thud through the speakers. Not so on the Rega, dead quiet. Thats the other thing the whole thing is dead quiet, no hum, no motor noise, nothing.

the sound is a lot more relaxed than the Project aswell, i feel i can play it louder and still be listenable. The top end isnt as bite-y. Sounds a lot more like my old Dual 1019

will post more when ive listened to more records

Good to see you have picked up the Planar 3 already. Trust you are enjoying it. The dark side aint that bad after all:)

Thanks Simon, not me unforetunately. Thats my younger brother, his things is photography. Im pretty impressed with what he did. Look at the first pics on the page, they were my effort.

i just tell him what i want the picture to look like and he makes it happen.

Yeah l must admit after l posted l looked at the pics at the top of the page and thought you must have been practicing hard to improve so much. He obviously has a good eye for a shot.

Great looking set-up Nathan.

Is it just the picture or probably just me, but the cart wires look disconnected :D
