AccMagi7s Thread

Must admit I am a bit jealous, but also very grateful that someone like @AccMagi7s is the owner and happy to share his incredible system with others. I dont need to own van Gogh's Sunflowers to appreciate it and marvel at its magnificence and same goes for this setup.

Apologies @AccMagi7s dont want to take away from the focus on your new setup but something that extraordinary also makes me think a bit more philosophically about things.

I think this idea about "where is the end" and "can he stop to smell the roses" is a common sentiment here, I do get where you are coming from though @Grimmie , and I have thought that sometimes myself about others that chop and change things. (from my perspective anyway) Alternatively I am sure others have said that about me. Of course I would consider my choices perfectly sensible and beyond reproach😃.

Perhaps the same could be said of anyone that upgrades their system at whatever frequency and whatever level they are at. The point is everyone is different in what they want to do and what they are able to do and what they expect others should do.

If the goal is to just enjoy the music and be happy then any car stereo or earbuds connected to a phone is more than sufficient and nothing else better required. My perspective is anything more than that or similar is not just about enjoying the music.

If the aim is to hear every aspect of the recording in as high fidelity as possible (as long as health, family, finances and friends are prioritised) then I would hazard that the vast majority here on this thread are guilty of not smelling the roses from someone elses perspective, and there is likely no, one, end, or perhaps any end, except the loss of interest in this hobby. Definitely not having a go at your comments @Grimmie as am sure they are meant with real positive intentions and good wishes for AccMagi7 to enjoy his system as much as possible.

But it does also remind me I have seen it used to deride someone elses choices where I would have thought they were well considered. In the end we are all different and have differing ideas of what is reasonable and I find high cost choices come under the most scrutiny , I feel like most of those decisions are made by people who have an immense commitment to improving their system and decisions are not taken lightly, whereas I feel like there is a lot of sidegrading going on at lower price points with little or no real progress and lots of egging on and encouragement from the sidelines to the latest "giant killer", and I feel those choices could be more validly questioned (in my opinion) but if it makes people happy then all power to them. I really dont mind and wouldnt pass comment on them uninvited.

I guess from my perspective my enjoyment of audio reproduction is about the journey perhaps as much or even more than the destination and whether that results in sidegrades or real progress I still enjoy the challenge of getting the setup to truly progress as it is not that easy. and failures do eventually result in valuable learnings which help things along Much like life, there are infinite journeys to be had and you wont be able to go on all of them. and the ultimate destination is known and travel time is limited, so try to enjoy all the ups, downs and sides of your particular path as well as the journeys of others....

I could rabbit on further but can see this is way too long and waffly for this thread already, so thanks in advance for putting up with it, or happy to delete it if not welcome @AccMagi7s

Not at all, Mark, and I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. As a respected Victorian member, you've often inspired me to seek input on my Goldies plans, and we briefly discussed this earlier this year during the Melbourne shows.
As I mentioned to Ged yesterday, I truly value all the input from my circle of friends here. I thoughtfully gather and process everyone's advice to make the most informed decisions possible. You might recall from past experiences that shortly after the M7s arrived, there were a couple of incidents where guests became agitated and made illogical comments about the speakers and my setup. Things escalated quickly to offensive language, which led me to ask the individual to leave the premises. Since then, I've been very cautious about who I invite.
Fortunately, my current circle has been nothing short of fantastic. I’ve always loved hearing honest, caring, and insightful thoughts from everyone. Many of you here have been part of this journey for nearly a decade, if not more. When the time feels right, I’d love to host a get-together with a light BBQ and some fine grape juice, creating a relaxing atmosphere for everyone. Hopefully, @betty boop 🙏 will help me switch to "GoldMagi7s," as @Analogueage (Rob) cleverly pointed out.😁

What the!!!!!!!!!!

So let me get this straight... You graciously invited people into your home, and it devolved into what you posted above?

That is insane. 😱 People with such a warped thought process are better off out of your life.

I'm glad you are now surrounded by people who appreciate the joy you are finding in your hobby. Happy listening.

I wholeheartedly agree with this point. I think I mentioned it briefly earlier as well. It’s about childhood and AM radio, which has such a warm and welcoming tone that many people find really pleasant to listen to. I do occasionally enjoy my Bose headphones when travelling, but for serious, complex music, my room is where I turn to.

Taking it easy tonight after days of relentless trolling and meeting deadlines. All invoices are settled, so it's time to indulge in the simple pleasure of the good life.

I'm diving into some straightforward audiophile recordings, soon evolving into intricate, orchestra-scale soundscapes. The music feels as if it's happening right in front of me, yet I can't see it—each instrument suspended in a three-dimensional soundstage. An uncanny sensation, made possible by the incredible sonic density that creates such a captivating illusion.

Tonight, I’ll be accompanied by Mosswood, one of my favorite local producers outside Baraosa, or perhaps McLaren Valve or Adelaide Hill.
