You will love them, that's right, Q3s those are!

I was really wanted the Q5s before. I guess, once I sold my wife and the two kids..., affording M3-Pro will no longer be the obstacles!!! :emot-bang:

My theory on that is wives are revenue negative and kids are revenue positive. So keep the kids and just sell the wife :P

Apologies for the late reply but many thanks to Chanh for his enjoyable GTG.  Its always good to catch up with the usual suspects with the added bonus of listening to a very impressive system.

I enjoy Chanh's system very much.  Unfortunately I missed the server Vs the Accuphase shootout, and more importantly we didn't get to hear vinyl on Chanh's system.  Looks like we need another GTG when the TT has been repaired.  :)

Your the man, once I get my TT sorted, for the listening test.

Who knows, I might pay MarkT a visit and God know if Technic SL1000 mk3 might going home with me?

Let's not forget your fabulous new Accuphase Dp-900 front end. I predict that music server development and usage will eventually wind down to zero once you get used to the state of the art performance that can be delivered with the Accuphase DAC and Spinner combo. That's what's happened to me and I swear you end up with more time to spare once you no longer need to reboot, fiddle with settings , constantly tweak and try different expensive interfaces in the vain hope that you can pretend that it is as good as the best cd spinners.

The curved carbon aesthetic looks very nice, leaps ahead of the Q-series rectangular box aesthetic. At a wild guess I'd say $200k-ish for a pair of those M6 bad boys.

Mate!!

See what you've done to my head?!

I have the price in USD.

OK. $172K USD price must have just been announced, as of yesterday the dealers didn't know the price. So my guess of $200k AUD is under-done by quite a bit, will probably end up being closer to $250k+ AUD.

With all that carbon on the sides the weight has come as a surprise, I would have thought it would be much lighter than 177kg each. There must be a lot of metal in the internal construction.

I bought a disc spinner but in the months since I've decided I prefer the convenience of a music server system over the sonic merits of a dedicated spinner. Are you going to upgrade from S7 to M6?

Great seeing plenty new faces today... Certainly a diversity of experience, background, expertise and gears owners....!

Especially thanks to @Jones99 for the dropping by..., all the way from Mandurah. My setup is never in any shape, form, calibre to his level nor anywhere close to his gears..., must had been a disappointed trip...?!

Many thanks to All for your time today, and some brought over Reds..., too! You know who you are! :thumb:

Not forgetting @Tasso for the kind assistance as always..., despite his tight schedule with family on Sunday still he was rushing over to assist the setting up TT....., and quickly left!

A small a favour from me if I might..., pls post your feedback(s) here instead of PMed me the feedback PLEASE!! Pretty sure there are lots of interstests wanting to know your neutral views/feedbacks....!

We all know how the day eventuated, there is no need to remind me via PM! :hiccup

Chanh apologies for the late reply .....great to catch up with new and old faces been a long time between drinks . A big thank you for going to the effort for all.You definitely have squeezed a lot out of a very tough listening space......I think the new room will really show what can be achieved with your existing equipment.

A shame the Accuphase could not play all the SACDs I bought which made it hard to determine the spinner vs CA...

For what its worth what  I did i hear of the CA was very good in a very challenging  room. I think this will have to be done again with the new room and I promise I will bring the Aurender W20 to duke it out with your super impressive creation ......also  Pandora preamp to really match with the Anitlleon Sig....you current Pre in my opinion is a bottle neck....

I have bought the Manger CD was a very  nice reference disc ... hopefully it should arrive soon so when I return the favor you have  a reference.

Thanks again

Cheers

Jones

Update: I have ordered parts for my TT restoration. AudioNote pure silver tonearm wiring, all caps replacement and a new external power supply vdc to mitigate internal emf, rfi, and inadequate internal psu. Hopefully I get this done this long weekend. So a gtg for the Vinyl geeks is on the horizon guys...

Hi Chanh,

Is this the Pioneer PL70 II you are working on?

Was the problem with the wiring due to transport damage or pre-existent?

Hi Edd,

Not sure to tell you the truth. No point/values for me to go on upsetting about this. It is what it is - I have paid approx $200 for caps replacement from Mouser, $100 for the tonearm wiring (Audionote pure silver wiring), and $300 for the new external LPSU.

Have been very busy with day job so no time for hifi. I hope this weekend allows me to finish a CA server for a mate over East and then working on the TT.

Will see how things are panning out.

Problem with wiring might have been caused by yours truly. I twisted the tonearm cap to remove it , instead of prying it open in the first place . The purpose was to fill the damping oil reservoir.

However, Pioneer had designed it such that if you accidentally turn the cap ( which is easy to do) the wires would twist internally and break. This is not the case with the Pioneer Exclusive P3 which is what I had experience with - the mechanism looked similar from the outside.

Can't agree more with this. Music servers are convenient, reference spinners (analogue & digital) are untouchable.

No comment for LP/TT.

As for digital only: We get all sort of different opinions what betters... That is the uniqueness of this hobby. One must understand what they can appreciate...., Perhaps one should question himself the inadequacy of a particular setup or the limited exposure to a better format?

edit: Never ever assume the rest of the World is stagnated simply because his was or is...! Preconceived mind is a close mind...., hence no positive progress/outcome....

Hey guys... I has been somewhat 6-Month, and my new projects is at near completion. This new man cave is abit better than my low budget garden shed.., however, I am facing challenges with this new room in term of room-treatment, speakers and gears placement...., most of all, the transition all gears from to new room. Hopefully some kind local members may assist with their experience inputs and the lifting hands.... BBQ and nibbles  and certainly beverages will be on offer for this brainstorm gtg.
