I really like this cover, makes me devilishly grin for some reason 😈

The cover was a photo taken either before or after his concert in Italy - the album was origially going to be called "You're Right It's Time" (due to the length of time between releases) and the cover art would suit that title more I think? But it is "different" I admit! The inside photos are from the same shoot.

Just bought this with a gift card I received from my parents. This album was written around 1974 by Difford and Tilbrook before they formed Squeeze but only just recorded and released.

This first one comes with a caveat. This is the first Prince album I have ever played and declared on stereonet. You may have also noticed that I have never given a 'like' to a Prince album (except recently to @metal beat after he bought the half speed 'Purple Rain' LP.....I was just so happy for Shane.....he doesn't get all that much!😂😂😂).

With apologies to him, @April Snow and @PurplePlanet, while I've always respected his immense talent, l've just never been a big Prince fan.....but I did get this album decades ago after watching Batman at the cinema and thought the music sounded well recorded and suitably funky.

After those same decades in storage during my 'digital years', it ended up warped so after flattening it with the Record Pi, I spun it last night. Yes, superbly recorded, it indeed sounded really excellent.....but alas, with some songs great but others 'meh', I'm still not a Prince 'fan'.🤫🫣

I expect minimal 'likes' for this declaration.😆

Prince "Batman" Original soundtrack, Oz 1st pressing, DMM, lacquer cut at CBS Artarmon, Sydney.

Batman™ (Motion Picture Soundtrack), Primary, 1 of 8

New arrival, Red Hot Chilli Peppers "Californication" 2021 reissue (of the lauded 2012 remastered reissue), lacquer cut by CB at BG Mastering. Sounded really good.....great album.

Californication, Primary, 1 of 10

Gjenferd "Gjenferd" 'mini album', Norwegian 1st pressing, excellent Norwegian hard/stoner rock from 2024.

Gjenferd, Primary, 1 of 4

Batman’s a great album, it does divide some Prince fans as well, but I love it. Respect you declaring you’re not a Prince fan…nobody’s perfect 😁🤣

I have the RHCP’s Californication 2012 pressing and it’s indeed fantastic…I must spin it again soon.

Fair enough but that is definitely not the album I would use to introduce anyone to Prince, I suggest people try "The Vault - Old Friends 4 Sale" as that has a more of a funky jazz vibe.

Another good one is "one Night Alone - Solo Piano & Voice" which is just him on the piano.

Various "Rocka" Oz 1st pressing, a collection of Albert artists from the 70's.....and another successful record flattening. Some great songs, some very average....but I really bought it for 'Black Eyed Bruiser' by Stevie Wright.🤘

Rocka, Primary, 1 of 9

New arrival, Madness "Absolutely" NM German 1st pressing and glue cleaned. Fun album, great sound.

Absolutely, Primary, 1 of 6

Madness "One Step Beyond" Oz 1st pressing.....even better sound!

One Step Beyond..., Primary, 1 of 6

Thanks for those suggestions Sue.....but my view is not formulated from just the Batman album, but his music over a long time. Some songs I have liked but then others no.

I once considered getting 'The Rainbow Children' because of it's funky jazz vibes, I may well revisit that one.....but I'll definitely check out your two suggestions.👍🙂
