My father-in-law is a mad keen audiophile, but at 67 years old is a little bit less capable on the Internet side of things hence he has asked me to help him sell off one of his bits of gear. I thought you guys here might be interested. Per the title, it is the venerable Yamaha DSP-A3090, made in Japan (and actually purchased there) - and there's the rub - it requires a power transformer, however one will be included in the sale (probably worth a couple hundred itself). It is in perfect condition. My FIL's thinking $1,000 but I highly doubt a 16-year old unit would fetch that much regardless of how awesome it's supposed to be so I'm open to reasonable offers and will let him decide.It weights friggin' 21Kg so pickup only, from Eastwood (BH) or Cardlingford (AH) NSW. Circumstances change, I am in need of some money, the only i thing I can think of selling and get the sort of amount I am in need is to sell my Audio gears thats been less used in house. Selling Two months old paradigm studio 100V5 - Rosenut & Five months old Jamo S608 HCS10_SUB660 home theater package - Dark Apple. There are actually three versions of the NS 500. The NS 500 is a two-way design. The NS 500M and NS 500Ma (not sure of the difference between the M and Ma - does anyone know?) is three way with a pure beryllium dome tweeter. The other drivers are 10cm Titanium Carbide composite dome and a 30cm carbon fibre bass-driver. This particular pair that we have is not perfect, which is to say they need a little love. We have had them in our possession for some time and we where thinking of doing a restore but never got around to it. They would be ideal for someone who was willing to take a bit of time to restore them to their former glory. From a playback point of a view these are working as well as ever, we’ve tested them and the performance is very good. Cosmetically there is some outer surface delamination as you can see in the pictures. They could also do with a careful and thorough clean. The good news is, the cabinets show no evidence of damage beyond the above mentioned surface cosmetic issues. The speaker covers themselves are in reasonable condition with some wear and tear on the corners. Once restored we think these speakers would represent excellent value for money – with a performance approaching that of the famous NS-1000M. Pictures:

Has not disappointed. Some of the features I’ve particularly found particularly useful: Can re-assign amp channels to outputs (i.e. if you want to use external power amp for fronts, can re-direct the atmos channels to be powered by the receiver) PEQ. I’m not sure why all receivers don’t have this. Allows for manual tweaking post calibration. Bass adjustment. This does not just lift the subwoofer output, but it will also increase the midbass ouput (i.e. to the front speakers) to maintain a even smooth transition i.e. you can easily create a JBL style reference curve I have the box, so can ship if necessary. But will give preference to local buyers. This receiver has made me a Yamaha fan for life. The only reason I’m moving to a Denon is that it currently is the cheapest option to get me into 9.2.4.
