huxmut
In these times of "Blighted Blue Banality" it's refreshing to walk into a dark room and have only the soft glow of a single Sansui red LED for company Add the glow of a period accompaniment and Bliss is surely yours

manchu
Here's some vintage Sansui bits I came across at the local salvos today. not desirable vintage unfortunately . . mid 80's I believe. R-303 stereo receiver SE-510 graphic equaliser AT-202 audio program timer (??? I really don't understand why this component exists) asking price $125, including a pair of digitor speakers. huxmut
AT-202 audio program timer (??? I really don't understand why this component exists) Have a cassette ready and hit record, when the time came around it would start to record. Also a 'sleep' function and an alarm too. Very handy in the day

Luc
@@Sansui77 Mate, much as I love Sansui I'd like you to think about a female member of SNA (yes we have a few of them)coming on here and seeing your posted gifs... I'm not offended by them but I'm embarrassed by the sight of them. If my missus has a squiz at the site for instance after I ask her to do so to have a look at some gear ect ect. She'll give me even more grief about my preferred hobby and love. I don't want that, I want to be able to take the Handbrake to a GTG one day where the ambiance is cool, the wine is select and the company is interesting. She's declined already the one time I've ever asked her and the reason is related to the fact that a bunch of men will be there and when a bunch of men get together...well, she didn't elaborate apart from saying she'd be bored as we all banged on about hifi gear. If I showed her your post she'd just nod her head and walk away and I'll never get her to socialise with people here and I've met a few and they are all great people but I battle to convince her. Posts like yours don't help. Make of this what you will.
huxmut
And those 5500x's went for 420 bucks I'm going to cry myself to sleep tonight http://www.tmraudio.com/product/sansui-sp-5500x-vintage-speakers-in-factory-box-perfect These speakers are brand new / never used. Yep, you read it right. We have a whole lot of vintage gear that we just acquired from an individual collector. All of it is in excellent condition, but these particular speakers have a unique story. All of the gear was purchased in Japan by a United pilot. He got these speakers home, opened them to make sure they made it safely, put them back in the boxes and never used them! We took them out to inspect, test and photograph... they are truly perfect and even have all of the internal packing intact - just as if you bought them brand new Edited February 21, 2015 by huxmut
Sansui77
@@Luc, First of all my missus actually like them. I don't see how they could be offensive as there's other members with their avatars showing bras, underwear etc. Maybe you should contact them as well. I will take them down from the post to make you happy but as for my avatar I will decide what I will use. As another member has stated, 'too many people love to be offended these days' and he's right. Let's get back to what we all like and that is....................................................... .............. Would love to send it to Skippy for the "treatment", but we live in the state that time forgot. Costs a fortune to get anything in or out of here! And Sansui77...you chose the best avatar.... Call me old fashioned, but I fail to see how boobs can be offensive. That gif just says joy and fun to me! Feel free to put the originals back. I work in a state govt. GOC. And let me tell you, offensive to you and I it may not be. But any of the boobs bouncing avatars are considered inappropriate. I can get in trouble/lose my job just for looking at the forums at lunch Not Sansui77's problem I know. I have to be hyper vigilant these days. I've had one formal complaint (not SNA forums) about inappropriate content on the screen :(

It wouldn't cost all that much via Transdirect - a few WAers have sent Dad and I some quite large amps like the Kenwood 8006 and it was less than $50 each way. The 317 is around half the size. I've got a lovely pair of Nichicon Gold Tune 10000uf power supply filter caps in the right size for the 317 which are very lonely and waiting for a new home
