Verum Audio Owners & Discussion Thread

Featured Replies

Great news....I received mine just under a week ago but wanted to give them some time before making any comments.

IMO the Verum II are simply a beautiful looking item, the Pearl finish is sensational, the pads (both sets) are well crafted. The cables are solid and look the part and the case is fine.

I can wear these at my desk at work for 5hrs or more with no level of discomfort or hotspots at all.

Plugging the Verum II into my Aune S9c DAC/AMP and I found myself immediately smiling. I have noticed them opening up some more as time has gone. I expect, based on discussion here, that will continue over the coming weeks.

I am very pleased with what I have received and it has been for me well worth the wait. I have over the past week played many albums ranging from brutal death metal through to jazz and not once have I been disappointed.

Igor and team have done a super job on making these, presenting them as they do and importantly delivering a sound from them that I can't see anyone who has them or will be receiving them not liking, they get your foot tapping and head nodding immediately. I won't compare to any open back or closed back that I own as I don't think it is fair, however I have not reached for any other headphone since the Verum II arrived nor been keen to do any A/B comparison for myself, I am just enjoying them!

I do hope we do see the caps for these as an option because I'd really like to experience them as a closed back too.

All up, right now, I could not be happier with my decision to back this campaign and potentially for any future campaign from Igor and Verum I would approach with extreme confidence on the quality of the product and service.

These have given me confidence to seriously consider the Verum I, but no need just for now as these Verum II's have satisfied me tremendously and removed my immediate hunger for more new headphones.

(I have left a bit more of an indepth review on the Kickstarter comment board).

@MattyW - thanks! Is such success is pleasant? Yes, very. Is it a surprise - absolutely not. Good reputation, good new product, numerous reviews - frankly speaking I was quite confident and thought th

Does anyone here have any opinions on the different audio qualities of the leather and hybrid pads. They are now both ported. Was wondering if the ported hybrid pads are better than the leather or what you think about the difference in presentation.

I just recieved new copper litz headphone cables from Aurealis Audio yesterday. I must say even before burn in it's an absolute massive massive improvement over stock. Sound took on a triode like quality seeming almost lit from within, and reverb and refections I didn't even know existed in tracks have been revealed. It remains detailed, but is now so incredibly buttery smooth. It doesn't seem to have change bass depth or impact but wow what a difference the cable change made.

Mine have a Furutech 4 pin XLR and 2x 3.5mm Hifiman jacks to suit my Hifiman Serenade JR and the Verum II's.

I have to recommend anyone with Verum II's should absolutely experiment with changing cables as I think the stock cables are effectively junk and hold them back significantly.

Wow good news I have been meaning to ask Geof to  change the  terminations on one of his silver litz headphone cables that I have so they can be used with the Verum 2.

Now you have given me some motivation!, thanks Matty👍

A massive improvement hey. It's my first experience changing headphone cables and a bigger difference than expected.

I got a similar improvement with ivipQ Oracle Quenched on a pair of Hifiman Sundara headphones. Not up to Verum standards obviously but it transformed a pair of frankly unlistenable headphones into something rather nice.

I've received the notification of the earcups, I voted yes for these in the survey long ago, unfortunately for whatever reason I cannot make purchase, I have tried 3 times. Has anyone else tried and been unsuccessful?

UPDATE: I was finally able to make the purchase but used a travel card, my regular credit card would not work. Hopefully there is no issue with delivery etc. Whilst I don't expect I'll be using them as the regular thing but there will be times these will be great to have.

Thanks to everyone for support! I hope that even after such a long wait Verum 2 met all your expectations.

By the way, I finally have a dealer in Australia: Groove Audio

So If you're interested in Verum 2 and located in Australi - it's the most convenient way to get them.

Got to say I HAD preferred my Verum I Mk2's to the Verum II's overall due to their added bass impact in my setup. Enter the Fangsound Silenos R2R DAC/headphone amp. I bought it to use in at the office and using an Aurealis Audio Litz coaxial XLR cable that Geoff gifted me with another larger order of his braided Litz copper cables. While the braided cables were the clear winner with my other headphones and systems with this amp and the Verum II's the coax cable just works. Really abit blown away by this setup now as it has real bass impact and presence. In no way thin though rather with deep articulated and shapely bass exposing instumentation I never even knew existed this low down. Of course its stunning through the rest of the range too. I can honestly say that the Verum II's are the superior headphones now at this point in every concievable way. It wins on emotion now not just technical differences.

Nice to read they are still impressing, I am similar though I use the supplied cable, I have not upgraded yet and if I do, not sure what I will upgrade to. Might start sideways with something generic from Amazon or AliExpress and see how I go. I use mine primarily with XLR connection via my Aune s9c headphone amp/dac, but sometimes with the 4.4mm connection through my FIIO M11 plus.

I received my caps for the Verum II's, these are the caps that make them closed back. I have used them a few times, and they are functional and I am very impressed with the ease of using them (they do make the headphones look a bit dicky, but you can't see that whilst wearing them!)

Primarily though I use them as designed - open back but overall, I am in agreement with you that the Verum II's impress me time and time again. Sure, I switch to other headphones I have and none I would call bad or disappointing at all, but the Verum II's give me so many wow moments - and that to me is what makes them so outstanding in value and performance.

I'd probably not bother with those off Aliexpress or Amazon hey. I've tried quite a few and none of them impressed. The only thing that ever sounds natural to me are solid core copper wired cables. Definitely recommend those from Aurealis Audio.

Yeah, the Verum II's are quite sensitive to choice of cable and DAC/amp. Even though easy to drive I found other DAC/amp combos to make them oddly clinical sounding to the point I was actually thinking about selling them.... Then I paired with the Fangsound Sileos and I'm in heaven. Incredible match. :D

Cheers @MattyW , I'll take a look at Aurealis Audio and see if they are within my budget.

I do agree with you re pairing, I am not sure if its the power of the aune vs the DAP but they definitely sound fuller and happier being played through the aune!

I believe it's as much the DAC as the amp as paired with FiiO Warmer > iBasso Kunlun I much preferred the Verum I MK2.... Also Hifiman Serenade Jr, though paired with Fangsound Silenos is actually by far and away the best I've heard. It seems headphones are much like everything else in audio.... Synergy between components matter. :)

Though yes I do think amp power has something to do with it. ;)
